I've bought a reloading kit, brass, and some gun parts from midwayusa.com. It's been years ago but they had great prices. A guy from work that reloads all kinds of calibers recommended them to me

If you're just buying plinking ammo, couldn't you just grab some .38 Special? It generally will function fine in .357 magnums....or are you wanting full power loads to run through it?

Also, might want to Google Roze Distribution. Used them several times when I was running low/ didn't have time to load a batch. I generally use Falcon for cast lead bullets for my reloads, but Roze had good ammo at decent prices. They use Zero bullets and scrambled up the letters to get the "Roze" name. Not sure what shipping policy is out to Cali but they're worth a look.

Edit~~~~ They may be backordered on some stuff but worth the wait, especially if you reload. I've been getting another 5+ reloading cycles out of the brass they use...at least in .45ACP. Magnum cases may be a shade less....?......

Yep, the 38 ammo is cheaper and quieter and of course works fine in the 357 (same barrel size). I used to shoot 38s in the 357 when I was a child, as there is less recoil, but if it's a new gun, maybe the 357 full load is more fun.

With all due respect it is a total turn on to hear a woman with knowledge of guns talking about ammo
