Sweating/dropping water weight and the body's toxin..

We all know that when we sweat we are basically sweating out our body's toxins.. That is why sweating is actually good for us.. My question is, when pro boxers and UFC fighters drop water weight before a fight, I can only assume that while they are dropping water weight its almost a form of detoxing the body of those unhealthy toxins.. What does a UFC fighter put in the bathtub that makes them sweat pounds of water weight.. I wont to drop some water weight and rid of some toxins.. I know they usually make the tub a green color and they sit in it for about 45 mins or so and drop about 4-5lbs.. Id like to know what exactly they use in the tub to drop body weight.. Id like to sweat out a lot of my toxins.. Thanks

Toxins in sweat? Are you wearing a (organic) tinfoil hat right now?

sweating is mainly for body temperature regulation.

to be fair, there is a little urea in sweat. but its quite low compared to what the kidneys can do.

I've never heard of such a thing. toxins in sweat? so what would that make our sweat glands? a reservoir for toxins?

I'd have to see a link that backs up the claim that sweating contains toxins and helps purify the body.

sorry, have to raise the BS flag here!

You're correct. Sweating releases only traces of toxins (less than 1% of the body's total content), but in reality, its sole purpose is to prevent overheating, so sweating is not an effective method of ridding your body of toxins at all, but it does rid your body of vital fluids which can lead to dehydration.

The liver and kidneys (not the sweat glands) are the body's true detoxifiers. They filter toxins out of the blood and the body releases them through urine and feces. When someone is dehydrated, these filtration mechanisms go haywire because of a reduction in the plasma level in the blood causing side effects like you experienced post-workout.

    Just ask Alice.

I don't know about toxins. But go grab a tub of Albolene you can get it at CVS,Wal-Greens,Walmart and post every where. Its a woman's moisturizing cream. Before a work out for cardio work rub it all over your chest, biceps, stomach, back and any where else. Youll sweat so much its not even funny. A lot of boxers/fighters use this method to shed weight before a fight or just in general.
