Pretty cool! Outcome seemed proper IMO..

I wonder how many i could do. 204lbs 5 minutes. May try this.. if u did sets 15 thatd be 4 sets in 5 minutes. Seems like it could be done..

I hate to admit it, but I don't think I could do 60 in 5 minutes.

Did this with body weight deadlift, 3 minute limit max reps. I hit 45 extremely fast, got a crazy headache up my neck and base of skull, stupid me kept going and paced out another 20 reps through excruciating pain. Huge huge mistake, if you ever experience pain in your neck and lower part of skull, just stop, mid set if you have to even cause it can happen with lower reps too. Problem is the problem won't go away.... for months possibly.

I was as well. High reps are F'n hard! I routinely do sets of 20 in the squat but the amount of reps they did......just damn....gonna hurt real bad for a few days....be wrapping their knees to take a dump.

I think I would place most of the guys that I lift with as weightlifters. They lift and stay strong because of our profession. Most of them couldnt care less what their muscles look like but do have the confidence to really control a situation if they have too.

I need to drop some weight before I try this. The 'weightlifter' had the best/deepest squat.

That was awesome! And to think - powerlifters think high reps is anything over 6-8 lol

Most I have ever done continuos was 20 reps below parallel. Got a headache immediately after and decided to call it a day. Walked outside of gym and puked gallons of water lol.

Mad props to all of them. I wouldn't even attempt it.

I didnt get to watch all the video. Saw most though. But am wondering, what do they consider a weightlifter?

  24. #24
cool but didnt the powerlifter have a suit on?

  25. #25
A weightlifter is someone who performs the snatch, clean and jerk. Sometimes called an Olympic weightlifter to some people, but not all of them go to the olympics obviously, they are just weight lifters.

Looks like a singlet. If it is a suit it would be a really light one but would make some difference.

when performing the "snatch" it is important for it to be clean, otherwise i could be a jerk about it..

I go to the gym 7 days a week because I do cardio on my days off and probably 75% of the guys in there have never used the squat rack for anything except loading about double what they can handle and doing something that I assume is supposed to be some kind of shrug. I think I'm going to direct a few of them to this video right after I direct them out of the squat rack so some of us 25% can actually train legs. Cool video thanks for posting.

My buddy at one of them gyms I go to trains several high school athletes in their off-season. He was training them on some Olympic lifts the other day and was going through the variations of the snatch and clean. He asked them if they had ever done a hanging snatch. I about lost it and had to yell over, "I think they're a bit young to have seen many of those in High School".
