How often do you take a break from training

Been lifting since i was 12 years old more seriously from 17 onwards and have only had 2 weeks at the most off per a year. How often do you take a break and for how long.

I recently took 3 weeks off through a vacation and getting back into things. It's not a bad idea once in a while but I definitely lost strength.

Every 6 weeks, I reload either dropping weight, or sets and reps!

5-6 weeks after I take a full week to recover.

I usually take a week or 2 once or twice a year.

Helps with the mental fatigue of heavy gym work too.

I generally take every 5-6 weeks and do 1 less set per exercise. As a matter of fact next I'm doing it. You should do them even though you may not feel like you need it.

I usually do 3-4 days off every 8-10 weeks. More important however, as you probably already know is allowing muscle recovery in between workouts. I usually wait 48-72 hours before I hit the same muscle/muscle group again. Great looking back man, props.

Taking time off is crucial. Every 6-8 weeks take about 4/5 days off. I recently tweaked my neck going super heavy on squats and didnt go to the gym for 4 days, it was brutal not being able to go.

I went back to the gym and my bench reps went up, rest and recuperation is key.

I usually take 2 weeks off per year for my training partners hunting and fishing trips he takes every year...its really hard for me to take the break as training is my passion and honestly the best part of my day most days...but I force myself to take a break and come back fresh and ready to go...

I don't intentionally take breaks. however, when I break, i'll take a break. or if something comes up, say, like life, then I may take a break too.

another way of saying this, is I take unplanned intermittent breaks over the course of a year....

never by choice... i seem to lose strength after 5 days. maybe that will change now that i'm on trt (i'm 50 yo and had low t).

that being said, i'm dealing with some good joint pain, and if the tb500 doesn't work, i may schedule a week off this summer coincident with family vacation.

As twisted as that sounds I entirely agree!
Life gets in the way sometimes, and then if I need a week off I take it without agonizing. I almost never plan in advance to take a week off for no reason.

Great post, I'd be curious as to others' thought. I listen to my body, but usually ever 5-6 weeks. My joints suck so it helps.
