    Expired protein

    I Have about 2.5 pounds whey protein way past expired march 2012
    My question is this
    Is it still good???

    If you kept it in a dark place in relative controlled climate, I would use it.

    If you open it and it still smells good, mix it up man.

    I have used year old whey with no issues.

    As long as it looks and smells good that is the key.

    If its all moldy, weird looking, or smells bad, toss it.

    I would say yes as long as it doesn't appear/smell funny. Its a joke to my group of friends/family they are always calling me asking if I want their expired food. I kind of feel like a charity case when they do but its not like that at all. A LOT of foods are past their "expiration date" which most of this time is a sell by date for stores. Eggs for example are good for weeks after their expiration date, grains are another example, they will last for years after expiration date. I always do the smell/feel test
