    Lower back pain

I Need some opinions on lower back pain,

It comes and goes, mostly from movements like heavy squats, shrugs, bent over bb rows,
Before people say bad form, i've had my form watched and checked a dozen times, i know it's not my back being out of place when i lift, i have a feeling its that my lower back is over worked, i work 9 hours a day in a very physical job, which obviously doesn't help.

It feels like they are pumped to the absolute max, and causes pain. The muscles of my lower back that is. I suspect inflammation and being over used, but i'd love some opinions or peoples thoughts who have similar problems.

    Thanks guys

If it feels like your lower back muscles along your spine are tight, which is possible from standing alot, try leaning against a wall with a tennis ball between the muscle and wall. Then roll up and down the area that hurts. If a tennis ball is too soft a raquette ball or baseball works great.

You could also try to tighten the back with the aid of a lifting belt or an elastic back support belt.

That should help ease the low back strain.

I used to get insane lower back pumps. Squats would always be weak cuz of pumped lower back.

Surprisingly heavy deadlifts made it better. As u drive up u elongate the spinal erectors and lower back muscles, the bar pulls everything downwards (ie. Stretching it out). Deadlifts has done wonders for my lower back muscles, usually its the opposite and screws peoples back up hah.

I haven't been deadlifting because of it, maybe i'll trial that. I wear a belt when i squat now which really helps, i'll try the ball and a roller and get it massaged. Thanks heaps guys i appreciate it

Deadlifts have definitely helped with my lower back. Just make sure you don't start out going full bore deadlifting. Like any compound movement, start light and get the form down.

One back stretch in particular I always do before and after my workout on back and leg days that always helps: Lay on your back close to a wall so that while you are flat on your back, your knees are bent 90 degrees and your feet flat against the wall shoulder width apart. You should resemble sitting in an invisible chair, except with your back flat on the ground. Now take your right foot off the wall and place it on top of your left knee and hold for 10-20 seconds. Put your right foot back on the wall and repeat with the left foot. Hopefully that description made sense. I've found this stretch does wonders for my lower back.

    Foam rollers are also great.

I used to get this often.
When I started deadlifting and squating on a regular basis the pain was no more.
Maybe due to weak back muscles (in my case)

I get the same thing from time to time. It feels like the muscles in the lower back are binding up. I don't have the problem as much but it happens occasionally. I was also getting it when running or hiking. I started doing a lot of core exercises and it has helped. My guess is I had a muscle imbalance somewhere.

Go see a sport manipulator but make sure there good..

It could be something completely different like your feet or knees giving you back pain
