    Bicep Question

Ok - so the bicep has 2 heads, long and short.
However there are approx 10 bicep routines....

    Dumbbell Hammer curls
    Barbell Hammer Curl
    Alternating Hammer Curls
    Indvidual Bicep Curls
    Incline Bicep Curls
Concentrated Bicep Curls (elbow against the knee)
    Barbell curl
    preacher curl
    Cable Curls
    Close grip curls
    Wide Grip Curls

    Etc
    Etc
    Etc

It is one small muscle with 2 heads.... why should there be so many routines? It makes sense to me to do a bicep curl and preacher curl and move on to shoulders or some other part of the arm like maybe tri's...

    What are your guys' thoughts?

Yea I agree. All the curls are basically the same, and all the hammer curls are the same way.

The only difference is some exercises isolate more than others so they seem harder.

The resistance curve and lever arm bio mechanics also come into play.

I prefer dumbbells for both curls and hammer curls.

Hey man based on advice of old pros I switched my workout to full body every other day.

I had to cut back exercises to a few select ones.

For biceps I do 4 sets of incline dumbbell curls 30sec rest between sets, then 4 sets of incline hammer curls.

The short rest period is pretty crazy. But yea man 2 biceps exercises and on to triceps.

I'm all about high volume and heavy heavy with strict form for biceps. To the point I dont even do them anymore cuz they out of proportion lol.

I contribute my biceps to heavy strict cambered bar preacher curls, standing alternating dumbbell curls, standing cable curls for constant tension, and dumbbell concentration curls for shape. And maybe pop in one or two more exercises for a burnout.

Personally, I like to train biceps and triceps at same time. Either do this by super-setting or doing straight sets but changing up which muscle I target with each exercise, I find this gives me the best workout in the shortest time. I also like to start each arm session with rope pushdowns and rope hammer curls as I find these allow me to flush the most blood into my muscles.

How long are your full-body workouts?

~2hours, the 30sec short rest is killer man, I'm loving the change. Its basically all business no time to BS. If you have old pros at your gym, befriend them, their advice is gold.
