Brain implant gives you total recal

Well it looks like it's getting closer to science than science fiction. I saw this on the news a little while ago.

    http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304914904579435592981780528

What would you give for a retinal chip that let you see in the dark or for a next-generation cochlear implant that let you hear any conversation in a noisy restaurant, no matter how loud? Or for a memory chip, wired directly into your brain's hippocampus, that gave you perfect recall of everything you read? Or for an implanted interface with the Internet that automatically translated a clearly articulated silent thought ("the French sun king") into an online search that digested the relevant Wikipedia page and projected a summary directly into your brain?

Science fiction? Perhaps not for very much longer. Brain implants today are where laser eye surgery was several decades ago. They are not risk-free and make sense only for a narrowly defined set of patients—but they are a sign of things to come.

I don't think there is a drug that's going to make me think I'm living the plot to Total Recall.

If it could make me think I'm surrounded by young sexy Asian girls doing as I please I would go for it or at least I would have it done when I thought my days were limited due to age, illness or dementia. Can you imagine a better way to go?

Maybe it can be used to stop dementia, Alzheimer, or other types of memory loss?

I think you're on to something here. But if they can do all this, they should just invent the setup they had in Strange Days where they could plug in and experience something that was pre-recorded. Imagine putting a visor on and being surrounded by a bunch of hot asian girls and then you have your way with them. This is what we invented science for!
