    Do I dirty bulk???

Right well basically I started bulking in November and got from 154lbs-168lbs at 1lb a week roughly, I was happy with this... However I've upped my calories an extra 500... Still not going back 168lbs, so first of all...
Why is this??? I'm eating 3700 calories a day and gaining nothing!! I've been eating I'd say 90% clean up until about 3 weeks ago I started eating more cals and more junk and I'm just not putting anything on still, I did jump last week to 171lbs and I was chuffed but weighed myself this morning under same circumstances as previously & I've gone back to 168.75 lbs, I've ate way over what I 'theoretically' need if we're talking TDEE. I'm getting really pissed off now, do I just eat more crap? I don't put anything on it'd seem :/

    Any help would be appreciated.

Ps - reason I suggest dirty bulk is I find it hard with the nature of my job to eat 3500+ calories clean as I work out at sea in the navy and were provided with three square meals a day, so I'd need to get my food from other sources or take an extra burger or whatever to get extra cals that way as I am friends with a lot of chefs!

I'd wait 2 weeks before changing anything.
Weight can fluctuate a lot, because of all the water we hold.

clean bulk = 10-20% calorie surplus
dirty bulk = 20%+ calorie surplus (bigger fat vs muscle gain ratio)

Dirty and clean is about how much food, not what foods.
Granted, usually dirty bulkers also eat "dirty",
but if you eat 100% "clean" and eat everything in sight, it's a dirty bulk nonetheless.

Dirty bulk will leave you fat, I would not recommend if not using aas.
I know, because I've been dirty bulking for 7 months, stopped a month ago or something. I'm really fat.
Gained about 1-2 lbs a week. If I was on aas, I'd be huge right now.

I've seen a few videos where people recommend 2-3 lbs gains per month if first year lifter (natty). Just off the top of my head, 3dmj and blaha.
I think for intermediate, it's 1-2 lbs per month. For advanced even less. Here a very useful link by an expert:

If you're not gaining weight you're not eating more calories than you expend. It's very simple you need to eat more. Clean or dirty are subjective terms and ones I think have no place in nutrition/diet. If you want to more 'junk' foods or whatever you want to call them that's fine but make sure to remember moderation is important. Fit them into a complete diet don't just haphazardly throw them in.

Give it 2wks after any diet change to see if it has any affect. If after 2wks you haven't gained weight, add another 200-300calories and check again.

I don't intend on using AAS yet, not for a while. Just rather frustrating how easy I got 154-168 and I've upped calories several times and seem to be stuck on 168, which ain't even near where I want to be.. Then when it fluctuates and I think I've put 3lbs on the next week I'm back at 168!! Been like 5 weeks now of eating a lot more, decided I'll just eat whatever whenever see if that approach works for the next few weeks if not get some liquid calories in me cause they're easy to consume and should help me... I hope!
I had heard the term dirty bulk being used for both meanings, personally I've always considered dirty bulk as just eating whatever the hell you want to, regardless of how bad it is for you.
