Is there any point in cycling if you have naturally low testosteorne levels?

I'm 21 years old, and my testosterone level has been measured at 250 ng/dl and another time at 290 ng/dl. I understand the purpose of PCT is to try to return your body to its natural testosterone production. However, mine is just so low to begin with that I'll probably lose almost all of my gains and go back to feeling like crap.

My plan is to just stay on a lower dose of testosterone instead of cycling off entirely. I believe this will allow me to keep a lot of my gains and improve my quality of life compared to cycling. In the absolute worst case scenario that I permanently damage my HPTA, I figure I won't have lost that much since it was so poor to begin with. Do you guys think I'm being reasonable?

Do you happen to suffer from any type of disease that's required the use of cortico steroids, such as prednizone? Use of this in kids has proved to cause delayed puberty, and low T for life. Did your doctor who tested you mention being on Testosterone replacement therapy?

    You're describing HRT/TRT.

I would go see a doctor and check out the HRT/TRT section of this board.

I just thought I would throw in my opinion on it all. I think you should, first and foremost, talk to your doctor and get referred to an endocrinologist. That would be your best bet and that endo has the tools to get to the bottom of the problem.

I think it is a problem that your test is that low as a 21 year old male. It isn't alarmingly low but it is pretty low compared to what I was at when I was 21. But then again I am not the control by which society is measured. There are so many things that can affect your T levels that you wouldn't think of and I would try exploring all of those options before getting on HRT. I am sure an endo would help you do just that.

Like I said, there are so many things that can lower your test levels that most people do not know about, most of them are fixable. Depression and stress can cause hormone imbalances and 21 can be a stressful age for sure. Hell, even BPAs in plastics are known to mimic estrogen in our bodies and elevate our levels slightly, those are found in plastic and the interior lining of canned food. I am not saying these are the cause, I just don't know. I just want you to keep the idea of HRT far from your mind until you have tried all of the less consequential options.

I was in the same situation...

    I tried to fix it.

    Hasnt worked...

    Started self TRT.

I may would have finish to find the root cause after thousands dollar worth of supplement, of test, of try and error.
It would have taken months if not years...

I decided to stop trying cause if you have low test now, chance are that you will never be in optimal level, TRT is cheaper, easier and very safe.

Only depends on what you wants.

    Good luck

Do you have your last two complete blood work panels? Can you post them? I tend to agree with what others have said on here about TRT but remember its life long. Talk to your doctor about this, I cant stress this enough, talk to your doctor. Something is wrong and try to find a cause, if none is found while you have insurance then TRT is what you will be on the rest of your life. How is your diet?

Before you self medicate, go check yourself out with a doc. Make sure you're not suffering from something else before you TRT.
