Is it me, or a lot of people want to use steroids when clearly they should not?

I don't want to offend anyone, but I've been reading the Anabolic Steroids - Questions & Answers section of the forum for quite a while now, and I've noticed that a lot of people are or are wanting to use steroids when it's obvious, at least to me, that are very far from having reached their natural potential. And that seems to mostly come from the fact that they are misinformed about them.

I'll be honest, I have never cycled myself, mostly because I'm far too young, but I read about them a lot, sometimes on a daily basis, and from what I understand, steroids are best used after years and years of training, when you've been training and dietting for so long that it's become extremely hard to keep gaining muscle mass naturally.

I feel like a lot of people are too tempted to use steroids to make up for their lack of discipline when it comes to dietting. It's easy to go hard in the gym... but much harder to make an appropriate diet plan and actually follow it.

Like I said, don't want to target anyone, but that's honestly what I feel about a lot of people that come here. Now I can see why steroids are illegal... if they weren't, it would probably end up disastrously for a lot of people.

Anytime there is free agency to do something you will have some people abuse that agency.

yes many people cycle to young and no where near their potential. Which actually hurts your gains lomg term.

But the society we live in is all about instant gratification. I want it now!

For sure. I would say 90% can reach their goals with a decent diet and training and 80% of those who do use that should fail to ever even get close to where they originally wanted to be. Not always due to their own fault but life has a way of changing your plans.

Most people, especially those under 25 are looking for a quick fix or instant results and they think this is the way to go. They see guys at the guy who are on gear and think that all they have to do is take this or that pill or a few injections and they will look the same not realizing how much hard work also goes into their gains.

How many times have you heard someone who is fat, out of shape and only goes to the gym 1x a week or when they are they they spend 80% of their time socializing say if they took steroids they could look just like this or that guy? Last time I heard someone say that I told him I will pay for his cycle and bet him $5000 in 6 months or even 1yr he would not look even close to the person he was commenting on. Funny how they shut up quickly.

As a female I believe we may need a little more help to reach our goals. For women, a lot of the ways we want to look isn't natural. Many of us get cosmetic surgery, breast augmentation, etc to look a certain way. Some of us starve ourselves, etc. If a woman wants to build muscle and get that super lean look, the only way is through steroid use IMO. Our bodies are naturally supposed to support a baby, body fat is a huge part of whether or not our bodies can do that. Our bodies do not realize we still do not live in caves, and we have the ability to get food that is incredibly fattening. Thus, it will cling to fat a lot harder than men. Also, once we drop below a certain % of body fat we stop having our periods, another reason our bodies fight to keep as much fat as possible. It WANTS to reproduce. So we need help defying nature.

For men, I believe it is much easier to achieve their goals than it is for women (those of us who want a certain "look"). Sure we can get fit, healthy, etc, but most of us cannot get that super lean midsection look without the help of roids or a plastic surgeon.

Steroids won't work if your diet isn't on par anyway. I don't believe "overweight" people are going to use steroids. In the past decade I've seen many people use steroids, men and women alike, and none were obese, fat, overweight, or anything else. I don't believe your general new years resolution gym goer would even think about dabbling in steroids because they aren't that serious. More than likely nobody will hook them up with a source, and they have absolutely no idea what to get and how to use it.

That all depends on what group you are looking at or listening to. Trust me when I say we get a LOT of 16-20 year old looking to get hooked up because they think they want to get big. Most of them will do more research on the latest and greatest game for their xbox than something they are thinking about injecting into their body and they have not concern about future health since they all think life ends at 30. lol

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your goals. I'm sure you will get some good advice and support from our other female members and those male members who are not constantly trying to hit on you.

I never talk to anybody at the gym who doesn't seem serious. Maybe I missed the silly people wanting a quick fix. IMO, the only people talking about gear are the ones who really need it, did well with it in the past, etc. It's taken me a long time to get up the courage to do it, but I'm older, wiser and I know what my body is capable of. My husband is also trying it for the first time. I guess we will both be experiments!

Research, yeah you can't do enough of that. It would help to know a tad bit about how the body works lol. Thanks! Btw, I'm 31, I don't talk to the 16-20 y/o crowd. I'm pretty sure they don't even exist at my current gym.
