    Congestive Heart Failure.

    The heart is literally failing. That's why he goes to the ER every couple of months for IV Lasix. Because the heart is functioning poorly, blood and fluid begin to pool. Depending on the side of the heart failing (although one side leads to the other failing) the lungs can fill with fluid (pulmonary edema) or the feet (pedal edema). Lasix is a powerful diuretic; causing you to pee out a ton of fluid to reduce symptoms.
