    Favorite Cocealed Carry Weapon

I am teaching a class this weekend where I will be allowing numerous students (mainly inexperienced women) an opportunity to "test drive" several concealed carry style pistols. I have a few picked out to let them try.

Keltec PF-9 (George Zimmerman gun lol)

    Ruger LCP

    Ruger LCR

    G27

    G19

    S&W 360 Airlight

    G42

    Springfield XDs 9mm

    Sooo...whats your favorite carry pistol??

Without a doubt, S&W 4013TSW...This is an older generation gun, but honestly it blew my Subcompact SIG P250 out of the water...and almost like it as much as my P229 (which isnt practical for carrying in the summer...)

Varies depending on the season....SigP220 carry( commander sized slide..one size down from the full sizeP220), Sig Ultra (been a really nice shooter thus far), or Ruger SP101 w/ bobbed hammer in .357. Currently back and forth between the P220 and the Ultra. By July, I'll probably go.with the SP101.

I'll add that I like the Springfield XD. Friend of mine bought one in .40 S&W and after he put one of the Hogue grip sleeves on it I've found it to be hard to beat for the $$.

You guys are carrying some heavy iron. I should have asked what are your wives or gf's carrying lol. The class I'm doing is geared towards women mainly and some of the things you guys listed are a bit large for the ladies (figures lol).

The market for women wanting to carry and learn to shoot is huge! Its like what I see at the gym with women. They wont take any advice from their SO but will pay a stranger $100 an hour to yell at them lol.

Austin...have you tried the XDS? Its fantastic is the 9mm and .45 although it does have a bit of a crack to it in the .45. I just picked up the XDS for the wife who is becoming an amazing shooter.

Wife carries an LCP that I tuned. Most out of the box jam all the time. FMJ RN bullets really help these small pistols with steep ramp feed issues. Hollow points usually exacerbate the problem, but everyone thinks they need HP for self defense. Function first in semis; especially when women and self-defense are concerned.

I personally think a revolver is best for a women. Don't have to worry about teaching them to clear a jam under stress; just pull the trigger and it WILL fire.

    Excellent choice.

If I was to carry regularly it'd be the G27 with a clip extension on it.

I've got a modified G19 and love it, got it so the GF can use it too, but it's too damn big to comfortably conceal IMO

The 27 was always for ankle carry. It fits the king tuc for the 23 so I tried it. So much more comfortable in the summer.

Well I have out of state CCWs but for my home state they're just stalling and sitting on my application even though the courts said they gotta issue them. So I can't carry in my home state but the only carry gun I have is a Smith and Wesson M&P9c but I think something like the Glock 42 in 9mm would b perfect for me.

Nope. Never fired an XDS. I'll pick one up at the range next time.

The girlfriend and I just moved to a new city/county where we have some chance of actually being granted a CCW. We picked up our CCW apps and went to the range to try out compact pistols. Hopefully we'll be approved after jumping through the hoops.

Girlfriend has chosen to go with a Glock 19. I put my money down on a Glock 23, plus I'm thinking of adding a G27 to keep my options open.

For now, I carry a knife.

I have carried my G27 for nearly 15 years. I am a die hard fan of Glock! I'm not happy about the reports I'm hearing on the release of the single stack 9mm and .45. Glock is selling out and reportedly adding a side safety switch and possibly a back strap safety similar to Springfield of the 1911.

Carry guns should not have external safeties or hammers IMO!
