I know it sounds ridiculous, but all over the world the rectal administration of drugs is used. Most suppositories are prescribed for local effects such as treating constipation or haemorrhoids. The anal route however provides an excellent route for drug absorption and therefore can be used in patients with swallowing difficulties or for drugs where avoidance of the stomach is preferable e.g. NSAIDs. Additionally by avoiding the stomach the drug also misses the liver and therefore in many cases more of the drug will get into the system and a lower dose can be administered. Completely hypothetical- but by bypassing the liver and stomach, would this not be a better way of taking hepatotoxic substances (i.e. d-bol)? More effective, cheaper, and easier on the system/liver.
Anyone heard of this done before? Or maybe there's a reason why this would not work?

You also need the small intestine for anything that's not water based. Besides, you can't bypass the liver. No matter what hole you use.

It's called the first pass effect. "After a drug is swallowed, it is absorbed by the digestive system and enters the hepatic portal system. It is carried through the portal vein into the liver before it reaches the rest of the body. The liver metabolizes many drugs, sometimes to such an extent that only a small amount of active drug emerges from the liver to the rest of the circulatory system. This first pass through the liver thus greatly reduces the bioavailability of the drug. Alternative routes of administration like suppository, intravenous, intramuscular, inhalational via aerosol, transdermal, and sublingual avoid the first-pass effect because they allow drugs to be absorbed directly into the systemic circulation. Note that the intravenous route also avoids the absorption phase."

Austinite, you have a point though... the pills aren't designed to be taken that way- normal suppositories are designed to be broken down a lot faster (i.e. more water based)

well, let's think about this.

there are dermal applications of testosterone that do work. Absorbed through the skin
but take that same testosterone (active ingredient, not the entirety of it) and take it orally and it will break down before it becomes available.

this is the principle of DMSO, it's a carrying agent and is basically a solvent. it will absorb pretty much everything, and when applied to the skin, "carry" it's load past the skin into the blood stream. This is well documented.

So the testosterone can be "effectively" administered with this type of dermal application, and fail when taken orally.

To extend this theory, all you are trying to do is get past the skin barrier. This will work. But, lets' do a reality check

Berco made a testosterone suppository once apon a time. I do not know if it is still a viable product.

I highly doubt you will find anything like that here, as Europeans are more acceptable to sticking things up their ass, and this was a European product, I believe?

Either way, an interesting thought experiment.

As far as I know the only test that is absorbed throught the lymphatic ducts are testosteron-undekanoat, but it can still affect the liver, it comes in 2 forms, tabl. or inj., but the inj. has a very long half-life of 90 days(pluss or minus 40 days), and the tabl have a short half-life of 22,5+9 hours. Maybe some of the "safer" test to take when on TRT? But it is not to be used to get hyperfysiological tes-levels(maybe the andriol tabl will but that is nothing I know anything about)

I'm kind of necroing here but I just wanted to add- I wanted to cycle at 18, but I made the decision not to. I turn 22 in a month, and am still 100% natural.
