FINALLY went to the Endo. today and here's what he said-

I am 25 years old and have low T. My total test. is low, my FSH and LH are low as well (but all still in range). He said everything is functioning and working but at a low level and in most cases there is no obvious cause for everything being low. He ordered more blood work (LH, FSH, Prolactin, TSH, T-4 free, Insuling growth fact., and Cortisol Am.) and also ordered an MRI to make sure my pituitary is ok. He suggested because I am young and would like to have kids perhaps Clomid would be the way to go at this time. What are your opinions on this? I know clomid will boost my test. (assuming my balls are working) but I have heard that test. produced by clomid is not as effective as test. injected into the bloodstream?

You will get lots of help from the guys but yeah you're low. I'm glad he ordered an mri. Any history of AAS use?

Yes I have done 4 cycles with proper PCT and proper time off. I dont believe aas caused this as I have felt this way and had these symptoms since I was around 18.

I am here to gather people's personal opinions on Clomid for treating low testosterone so if anyone has any facts or opinions on the matter I would appreciate it.

Yeahbuddy, permit me to interject for a moment. I understand that you don't want to be "preached" to about your AAS use which is the reason I haven't commented until now. But you shouldn't come on with an attitude because you didn't like that comment. The fact is that your AAS use at such a young age may have had something to do with your condition. even if you felt this way before and still chose to do four cycles before the age of twenty five speaks volumes. So if you didn't like the potential comment and are only looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear, then chances are you're barking up the wrong tree. I hope Clomid works for you. I would hate to see someone your age have to embark on trt. This forum is full of helpful and knowledgeable people wanting to help, but if you come in here with an abrasive attitude you probably aren't going to get much useful help. I wish I could guide you on clomid therapy but unfortunately I don't have the knowledge. Good luck.

The Clomid protocol may help. My buddy tried that before going on TRT and it brought his numbers up a tiny bit but not enough to make a difference.

As for not thinking AAS is a cause or at least an acceleration of this is just plain crazy. People are going to preach to you no matter what on here. Being that you started cycling so young and you're trying to justify your bad decision by saying it's not related is just irresponsible. We battle with young-know-it alls (Not saying you are one of them) every single day and they all think they are Superman and will never be in your situation. 12 weeks of feeling like a god and 10lbs. of muscle is not worth a lifetime if feeling like an incomplete man.

Clomid treatment did rise my test levels up from shit to high , although i wonder if it's gonna last , u can try the clomid treatment and if it doesn't work switch to injections , it's worth a try at least

I don't feel that much difference personally , but since only 3 months have passed i can't really judge

Guys thanks for the responses... I respect everyone on this board and would also like the same in return. I am not arguing aas didn't affect my testosterone levels I was just saying I have had these symptoms long before I used aas.

Myers- what dose does your doctor have you on? That is one of my concerns is I get my levels up and nothing changes.

I tried clomid only first and it raised my total to 600 or so from 300 but did nothing for free and at the 5-6 week point it really jacked up my progesterone numbers to where I couldn't sleep. It usually raises progesterone but it made my plummet. If clomid doesn't work try nolva or maybe hcg or maybe some kind of combo.

Thanks man I appreciate the info. I was kind of getting my hopes up about using Clomid to boost my levels but then I thought that if it was so great why wouldn't everyone be using it over testosterone (unless of course your testicles aren't able to produce test.) Hopefully it works for me but I'm having my doubts.

I didn't have a problem with your response, nobody wants to be ridiculed after the fact. That being said, jasondd1 may have only been making the obvious observation.
Anyway to the point ,as he indicated, I'm glad as well an MRI was ordered, shows your Doc, seems to " get it" and is interested in finding the root of the problem. Clomid, although I have no experience, would seem to be a logical beginning point. Everyone responds different to some degree so don't get discouraged if you read of someone who did not respond favorably.
Just curious, did you come forth with your AAS use with the Dr?? Your numbers are low, yes, but they are not a train wreck. Very good possibility the clomid maybe with HcG possibly will work. Keep us posted and good luck!

Yeah I know, that's a tough one, I'm in the ins bus, im fully aware of what the M.I.B (medical information bureau) is. It's a shame because obviously you want the best care but also need to protect yourself.

Yeah b, the consensus may have been no, don't think I responded but in this case you probably should. You're entrusting your health to him, so you probably might want to give him all the facts. I find that the one guy to not lie to is the Dr who is trying to help you. He may be thinking pituitary when it was AAS related. It's not that I'm saying an I told you so but medicine is hard enough sometimes without misleading your physician.
I agree with bullshark, not everyone reacts the same so don't get discouraged, keep at it.

I wish you luck. I don't think that your prior AAS usage would be reason not to treat you. Just because a smoker developes lung cancer the physicians still treat him. Alcoholics still get treated for liver problems. Now I'm not lumping AAS usage with them but you get the point. The hypocratic oath. Either way good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

will the doc prescribe clomid? I have low T also and he was going to prescribe me androgel. Should I just get the research chem clomid and do 25mg daily? How long should I do it for? Will clomid increase sexual desire since test will go up?

It depends on your situation.. I am young and would like to try to avoid going on trt. Plus I would like to have kids someday. Judging by my blood work we determind that my balls were still working so Clomid was a good choice.. or at least a good place to start.

did he prescribe you clomid? so everyone is recommend on doing 25mg daily? how long and in morning or at night?

Yes given my situation we both agreed it would be a good idea to try this first. Apparently 25mg a day is pretty standard and I was told to take it anytime during the day as long as I take it at the same time every day. I will be taking it until my next appointment in February and at that point I will have blood work done to see where im at. If my test. levels have improved we will consider taking me off it and seeing if I can naturally maintain those levels.
