    How Shower Before Injection

When I take a shower before pinning I do not get as sore after pinning. I do seem to bleed more right when I pull out pin and wonder if I am losing gear. I do aspirate to verify I have not hit vein/artery. Whats your experience?

I don't think soreness and bleeding has anything to do with showering. Just use alcohol wipes on everything.
Yeah you lose some gear if oil comes out with blood, but you lose more gear that's left in the needle.

Dont worry about the gear lost in blood.

If it bleeds more you went through a veins. Thats all. As long as you dont inject in it you are g2g

This is why you draw an air bubble into the syringe before injecting. The air bubble will be the last thing passing through the needle pushing out all the leftover oil.

Do you pull just a little are in before pinning? I've been doing it wrong then and getting all the air out before pinning, I was wondering about the wasted gear at the very end, but I thought I had to get all air out before pinning, or do you mean the tiny bit of air pulled in after pinning to make sure you're not in a vein?

What you will lose in the pin is very minimal nothing to even bother about

i just pull some air in before pinning which helps push all the oil out.

Chicago Todd, I'm near your location by the way, nice to see a fellow Chicagoan, and ok I will pull just a bit of air next time before pinning, makes sense since it's not going into a vein

Even if you were in a vein that amount of air could not and would not cause an air embolism.

After a nice warm shower your circulation's much better. I wonder if you're less sore pinning after a shower since your circulation's better.

It cracks me up every time I read someone worrying about the gear left in the pin or a couple of drops of blood/gear that leaks out after they pin. Sometimes when I pin 2.5 or 3cc of gear I misjudge and pull the syringe out to soon and still have a 1/16 of gear left in the syringe. You know what I do? I pull the needle off and squirt it down the sink.

I think I may be a little jaded or insensitive after throwing out about 8 or 10 40mL vials of good gear by accident.

Lol yeah the gear leaked out from blood is literally nothing, and I haven't worried about the gear left in but the advice on a little air was good, I did just recently pull out a needle to soon and realized I had about 1/5ml still to go.... You know what I did.....stuck it back in and squeezed....that's just me though
