    Help me quit drinking Soda

This is really my only vice in life but it's killing me. For whatever reason I can't just quit drinking Soda. I've done it during cutting but then once stress comes around I'm back to drinking it. I drink a TON of it but just can't find a replacement. I know it's terrible for me and I've taken an empty 20 oz bottle and added the 35 grams of sugar and it's CRAZY!!!! I do drink water but I need something that tastes good and helps with the sugar craving. I eat mostly healthy but I need some tips in how to kick the habit. I know it's mostly mental but there has to be something I can replace it with that is healthy. I've tried drinking BCAA drinks but I can only drink so much of that. I've been drinking soda since I was a little kid as my primary drink. Totally sucks.

Have you tried to switch to sugar free seltzer soda? Flavored?

I also switched out sugar in my coffee with stevia. Not sure if that would help with cravings. But I know on e I cut out sugars I lost the cravings. Only time I crave it now is after I cheat with a candy bar or something. Just get past the hump. Once it's out of your system it should get easier.

I agree. When I stopped it over the summer after about a week I didn't crave it any longer. Once I started back on it though it was a constant craving. Luckily I don't drink coffee but I love my soda. Not even sure why either. I'm going to hit up the store after the gym and buy a few flavored Seltzer waters and see how that goes. Thanks

I went from drinking 7+ sodas a day EASILY, to just drinking water and it's been that way for about 6 months now and i have grown to hate soda and it's taste.

What really motivated me, was reading all of the bad things it causes inside the body at about even 1 can a day. It also
made me realize that about 1,000 of my calories a day were coming from sodas like mountain dew and coke. I can assure you that within the first couple months of you cutting out soda, it will become second nature to not drink it and it probably won't taste half as good when you drink one after.

This is coming from someone who HATED the thought of drinking ANY water. I may have taken it to the extreme by drinking JUST water but i feel like it's definitely had a positive impact in a few important aspects of my life.

I probably won't ever go back to drinking it because i want to be the best version of myself i can possibly be, and that's more than enough motivation for me. Hopefully you're successful at completing your goals though, and know it will be worth it in the end.

Diet soda if you must drink it

I had the same problem, what worked for me is too fill your mind daily with the horrors of soda on your body. I would wake up, watch motivational videos, and then watch a documentary or read facts on how terrible soda is for you. Eventually you will "program" your mind to not like it. Also soda is incredibly addicting physically, try a detox of some form for like a week. While doing what I said!

    do this.

go to Costco and buy one of their large lemon juice concentrate. Next time you get the urge, get some ice, ice water, and add a few drops of this concentrate into a shaker cup. if it needs to be sweet, a pinch of stevia, not an artificial sweetener, it's natural, but 50x more sweet than sugar. Now shake the hell out of it. It's pretty tasty and very refreshing

I will try this. I will pick some up either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Do you guys think it's better to slowly come off of it over the course of a week or just stop it altogether? I've done it both ways in the past but when stress kicks in I'm back to drinking it. I've gone months without it but I REALLY need to stop. I work my ass off in the gym and I eat healthy but I just won't see the results I want with the soda. I'm starting my bulk in a few weeks and I just don't want to balloon up into a fat lard. haha

X2 love green tea. I drink different teas daily. Cold turkey. If you did it before you know the difference it will make.

that russian "scientist" video is crazy!

i used to drink soda everyday too and like you know it's wasted unhealthy calories so here's what i did to kick the habit. i went from regular coke to diet coke (tasted gross at first) for about a month, then I started drinking only one diet per day with dinner. next i tried to not drink any...you will crave it, but just try to resist. occasionally i would have one, but after a while it tasted very syrup~ish and gross. this method worked great and i have been soda free for about a year and a half.

    *helpful tip*
when you feel like drinking a soda, just remember how bad you want those abs!

if u REALLY want to quit you will...

is it just soda with sugar or all soda completely? what about aspartame and artificial sweeteners? theres plenty of those flavor pack powders u can mix with water.

I just drink straight up Pepsi. It's so frigen good.... haha I got some sparking waters and they are pretty good and I should be good to go. It's the only thing getting in the way of progress. Normally I don't care when I'm bulking but my wife hates when I bulk so if I can stay fairly lean at the same time she will be happy and I will get some tail. If I balloon up then no tail for me.

hahaha no worries. honestly it is an addiction and there are triggers that will make you want it just like cigs/alcohol/etc. Meal time, the cracking of nice chilled coke just sounds soooo good! fvck it, im going to drink a soda!

The addiction is the sweetness itself, only way I got rid of it is to cut out sweetness out of my diet altogether. Anything sweet will make me eat like crazy so I stay away from it.
