hypogonadism

does hypogonadism have a cure? i was diagnosed with it after 2 small cycles, i don't know if i always had it or what. but my doc says that the amount of AS i took (1 cycle of 200mg of enanthate and one cycle of 200mg of equipoise) isn't enough to cause the damage i have.

i just want to know if anyone out there knows if a person with hypogonadism can have children? i'm only 21 but i'd definetly like to have a family some day and if i can't i don't know what i'm going to do....


is it possible that i have always had hypogonadism and didn't realize it untill after use of AS? let me know what you think....desperate here....

Yes it is possible to always have had it. What is your doctor suggesting for potential treatment? Hypogonadism does not rule out your ability to have kids. What is your sperm count? Do you have fertility issues? Have you talked to a fertility expert?

It can happen at any age or your whole life, the medical community does not have all the answers. Did he check your prolactin levels, LH FSH or did he just check your total T levels?

those are my test results. my doc has me on androgel right now (5 grams a day) and i'm seeing an endocrinologist (however you spell it) on july 23rd. testees and penis have gotten noticably smaller. i also gained A LOT of weight (mostly fat) from just being lazy and depressed after my last cycle.

don't know what my sperm count is. sperm is kinda watery though, not like it used to be in the good old high school days....

sorry, that top part with my results didn't come out clearly...the way i had it set up is: the numbers without parenthesises () is my results. the numbers with ()'s are normal ranges....

and i wrote "low" for the levels that were low, obviously....

How long after you completed your last cycle did you get your test results?

based on my own experience, those levels are about those of a 40-50 year old which is why the doctor has you on testosterone. There is a wide variation in people's testosterone levels anyway. I don't think it has anything to do with ability to have kids (ask the doc) and it does give you the legal right to take testosterone for medical purposes.

Instead of worrying, just ask the doctor. Or if he isn't good at anti-ageing stuff, search for an anti-aging clinic on the web.

by the way, there is talk that testosterone pills can be used for male birth control so if anything, I think high rather than low may be the problem. Why don't you just talk to the doctor, rather than worry?

the reason i don't talk to my doctor:
1. my general practictioner doesn't know much about sterioud use or hypogonadism.

2. my eurologist doesn't know what is going on either

3. my endocronologist is backed up and i can't get an appointment for nearly 2 months.

that's why i turn this site. i trust this site, i've used it for about 2yrs. i get more info from here than any other site or doctor. so keep the info coming....

lastly, woodie, what does male birth control pills have to do with my situation? i'm failing to make the connection here. can you elaborate?

hey I'm not a doctor so take the advice for what it's worth but I've heard that high doses of testosterone will suppress sperm production: no sperm, no babies. In other words, the problem comes from too much test, not too little. Of course, you may not feel like making babies if you're low on test -- depression and lack of libido are more the problem. Ifthis problem continues, ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist. You really don't want to rely on this board for serious medical issues.
