I eat maybe six pieces of fruit per day, so the fiber issue is not a concern. But my veggie intake has been off here the last few months. So a few moments ago, I pulled out the Jack LaLanne juicer out of moth balls, and juiced a stalk and a half of celery, a whole beet, and an apple. I think I'll be doing this awhile, just to make sure proper nutrients. Infinitely better than a multi. Most multi's suck.
Now, about the beet. If you have never juiced a beet before, you are in for a surprise. Last time I did this, my urine was dark orange, as if I'm some kind of junkie with a failed kidney.
The concept of the juicer, for vegetables, is a great one if you are already getting the right amount of fiber. I remember the very first time I juiced, I had this interesting "sparkling" high. not sure what it was. I'm sure some of it was a quick sugar buzz, but it was more than that. almost had an eppervescent quality to it.
I try to avoid juicing fruit. yeah, fruit definitely tastes better, with all the sugar and sweetness, but it's the veggies is the only reason i'll juice.
Anyone else have an experience with their juicer?
