    Eat junk before workout

Just wondering ....Is it alright if you get fast food (mcdonalds, KFC) 30 mins before your workout or is there something better I can have for pre workout meal? Ideas would be greatly appreciated, I'm and extreme ectomorph so I don't get fat if I eat fast food

Go for it lol. You know your body better than anyone else and if you perform well after eating a certain food then go for it.

However.... it's better to eat things with sugars exclusively (fruit) pre-workout

It's not ideal but as uhit said if your performance doesn't take a hit it's fine. Keep in mind that eating good foods isn't just about not gaining fat, it's a lot better for your health.

Have some Greek yoghurt or some almonds as the snack.

I don't recommend eating that garbage at any time, ever. That shit is pure poison, it has no nutritional value, and sooner or later will cause some sort of disease. You would be much better off with some non processed foods pre workout, but that is just my opinion, I am dead set against the fast food industry and the garbage they have people hooked on.

Yeah for overall health you could make better choices for yourself but everyone already knows that. If its just about how you look then you know what you can and cant get away with.

I would avoid high fat crap like fast food and try to eat mostly protein and carbs. eat a chicken wrap with veggies or even a bean Burrito‎. If in rush ill grab a container of fruit juice (real fruit juice) and a protein bar or drink.

I also would avoid fast food pre work out. One hour before work out I love having 1-2 cups oatmeal, cream of rice, or cream of wheat for my starchy carb source. I can really, really feel the sustained energy it provides through my work out. Personally when I'm in a pinch, and I eat something heavy and greasy pre workout, I feel sluggish and regret it every time.

Post work out I got for a quick snack directly after. Maybe a shake with egg whites, peanut butter, oats, Banana and almond milk. Lately I haven't been using any protein powders and I have been growing as good or better than ever. Then about an hour after my snack/shake its lunch time.

I really feel the difference of what I eat when I work out, big time. I am very sensitive when it comes to carbs, blood sugar and that kind of thing as well. Definitely try different things, but good whole food is always king.

It really all comes down to YOU, and how things have been working for you/what you're doing when you aren't eating that pre-workout fast food. If you have a certain proteins, carb fats #'s etc. that you meet each day, and fitting this fast food meal will fit into that because you've adjusted your day of eating accordingly, then not THAT MUCH damage done. But if you're already not eating a good diet, and are over your calories for the day and decide to eat that, your hard work in the gym might not translate to what you thought.

I wouldn't recommend fast food in anything but moderation to ANYONE, because of it's health risks outside of bodybuilding that it poses as well as it's so easy to eat too many calories in one meal there, and then be hungry after another hour. To each his own though. I know some basketball players (Who also have great genetics) that eat fast food fairly frequently and still maintain a lean, ripped look that many guys want. But i can assure you that it doesn't work that way for
    everyone.

I recommend food that fuels a workout. Fast food is a shitty choice. You can do so much better.

I like a protein source and some complex carbs before a workout.

I don't get to eat before a workout so I add a half scoop of Vitargo carb supplement to my pre/intra/post workout shakes. I just started the Mr. Hyde preworkout and it is intense, great pumps and energy, Xpand for intra and whey for post, all with added BCAA's.

I will admit pre workout is a time I have "cheated" diet wise more often than other times. Usually for me it isnt fast food but some kind of sugary cereal. Like earlier this week it was a big bowl of honeycomb cereal with 2% milk and a scoop of vanilla protein powder mixed in the milk. Things like that. Cereal is a big weakness for me.

Besides the crappy sugar, cereal is usually fortified with extra vitamins and minerals, even the bad kid's ones.

I don't doubt it. Just because they look good on the outside, doesn't mean they're very healthy on the inside lol

It's a bit ironic how you bash fast food in one post and rely on processed supplements in another. What poison specifically is in fast food that isn't in your Vitagro, Mr. Hyde, Xpand, etc if you don't mind me asking?

shitty processed food will fuel your colon. It also will make you sluggish and have diminished energy levels.

For some individuals you're absolutely right. For others you're absolutely wrong. It depends on the individual as I can have fast food or any other junk food before a workout and get a great training session in. I can have 'clean' food and have a great training session....

Lucky you. Anything I eat feels soooo heavy on my tummy. I have even tried an apple with no luck! But I am not a hater. LoL

And some people do better training in a fasted state as you exemplify GGR. I do train fasted from time to time but prefer having something before the gym
