The "BIG" California Storm!

Batten down the hatches maties. It's storm season, "worst" storm to hit California in 25 years.

This is what I've been hearing in the news. Wed through Friday.

Where I live, in Manteca, (central valley), nothing happened Wednesday
Today, winds picked up to maybe 40+ mph, and rained heavily initially, then constant the rest of the day.
Power went out at work for maybe 90 minutes.

Other than that, where I live, it's been over hyped.

What's going on in the rest of the state? Anything happen to you our your home?

it's been raining all day. pops said they predicted winds of up to 100mph, and so far, the highest recorded is 80mph, but not what I've seen......

I'm in tahoe right now and it was raining and really winding early but isn't much now. May get a little snow tonight. Just seems like a normal December storm we just haven't had one in so long lol.

It's funny how the media always tried to hype this stuff. Shutting down schools and telling people to stay off the road. Probably not a bad idea to keep the idiots off the road though.

I didnt even think it was considered windy until it was over 50 mph? Yeah some of the old, dead or weaker trees will fall and there will be power outages. God forbid they actually put the power lines under ground where trees wont be a problem and they have less outages. Also where they could be shielded from solar flairs too. Wouldnt want to save the tax payers money now would we?

How bad was it Times? I saw some pics of water measures' and it was up over 3" from my buddy in Ceres. Haven't read anything bad happening to them besides the rain.

I live 20 minutes from Ceres.

it wasn't bad at all. water came down hard for an hour, then rained steady for the rest of the day/night. cleared up the next day.

the "storm of the 1/4 century" wasn't about intensity, it was more about duration. It DID rain consistently for a pretty good stretch. And it did cover a large land area.

All in all, in my immediate area, it was a "non event".

Thats what I thought. I used to pass through Manteca all the time when I lived out that way.

The storm a couple weeks earlier was a lot worse up here in Sacramento.

We haven't had rain now for quite a while, probably since that storm. Back in the drought. Looked promising early in the year, but now no rain.

Really like Tahoe during the week. Weekends, it gets filled up with valley peeps.
