    Weight Watchers

I'm trying the Weight Watchers online program with my wife in an effort to help each other reach a healthy weight. I'm sticking to my daily point totals and trying to minimize simple carbs & get plenty of complex carbs and protein. How should I adjust my workout to compensate for the lower calorie intake? I want to maintain the gains I made last year and max out on fat loss.

Keep the protein up and monitor how you look in the mirror a lot. Personally I don't think weight watchers is necessary but if it works for you it works for you. Your training dosen't need to change when your diet changes. If your in a caloric deficit you will lose weight, it's inevitable some will come from muscle. Stick to the weights and throw in some cardio, keep the protein high and you will be good.

Bingo. Not in terms of intensity, anyway. I've seen people 'ease off' on their training when cutting/reducing calories, and that's a huge mistake. Now, you may consider changing your routine based on what you're currently doing, but it's certainly not necessary.

Talked to Phil Heath a while ago. He came to Fort Hood and did a little informal seminar. When he said this it blew people's minds lol.

Thanks. I realize there won't be any growth because of the calorie deficit, but I'm all about getting lean. I'm hoping to shed 40lb and start the bulking process later. Hopefully I can minimize the lean mass loss. (made that mistake years ago by eating too little) I am a little surprised to hear not to back off on the intensity though. I just have to keep the carbs up enough to power the workouts.
