Finasteride,saw palmetto and effect of gains

Was wondering does finasteride affect gains generally or not and if so does it only affect gains from testosterone or it affects gains from other steroids as well? Also saw palmetto does it have the same effect like finasteride or no?

No, 5alpha-reductase inhibitors don't have an effect on gains from steroid cycles, the study below was made on dutasteride but results should be same on finasteride:

"The main clinical message...is that for patients receiving exogenous testosterone, the gain in muscle mass was not affected by concurrent 5α-reductase inhibition,"

So is it a good idea to start finasteride when taking a test deca cycle also when should i start taking it? Is saw palmetto a better alternative or not?

How old are you? Are you half bald or you just looking at it in a preventive situation?

There has been reports of finasteride causing long term ED, have you investigated this?

Am in my early 30s not bald but have my crown area slightly thinner than the sides and looking for prevention
