    spot reduction or spot Increasing

Burning fat takes a decrease in maintenance calories through diet and cardio. You can't burn fat on a specific muscle, you can't see abs by doing crunches. But you can increase muscle hypertrophy on a certain muscle, like doing bicep curls will make your bicep look better if you train in hypertrophy reps, especially if you're just starting out. The more muscle you build the faster your resting metabolic rate becomes hence the more calories you will burn while doing nothing. And if your diet is on point all those " spot reduction" curls will produce a more cut arm, so spot reducing not possible, so let's call it spot increasing.

There is no such thing as spot reduction as we know and over working your biceps in an effort to make a more cut bicep would actually yield a smaller bicep. Diet and genetics ultimately dictate your biceps.

Muscle mass actually adds very little to resting metabolic rate.
