Be got 18 to draw with and 27g to pin with. Is this to thin?

what are you pinning. If you can get it to flow through and its deep enough it's fine. I use 38's for quadsOriginally Posted by fitnesstrainer

And holy crap 38s must be microscopic
sorry I meant 28'sOriginally Posted by fitnesstrainer
Haha ok that makes sense, still nervous to pin for the first time. A bit afraid of needles. I have a friend who's a medic who is gonna help me out though.Originally Posted by Bio-Active
Just want to chime in and say 18 is probably a bit big to draw... I think it will chew up the top pretty good. I draw with 23 or 21 at the most and inject with 25. Just my thoughts
make sure you remember to aspirateOriginally Posted by fitnesstrainer
drawing with an 18 is fine. I would get frustrated drawing with a 23. I usually draw with a 20-21 but really you are only going to draw out of the vial probably 10 timesOriginally Posted by Bertuzzi
LOL.... For some weird reason that sentence made me actually laugh out loud.... I just imagined you sitting there drawing with a 23 "Mother fvcker... this is bullsh|t... taking too long.... idiot recommended a 23.... what an asshole" LOL.... I needed a good laugh this morning.
trust me I have done it before and yes that's about how it goes. 23 is fine to pin with but I like to draw a lot fasterOriginally Posted by Bertuzzi
i never use a 1.5 ouch for me that's to deepOriginally Posted by NACH3
I draw and pin with 27. Lol
no I use half inch pins for quads and it's deep enough for 1cc. Never had an issueOriginally Posted by NACH3
I find 25 is the smallest I can use.
why?Originally Posted by lovbyts
I always draw with 18 pin with 25.
Drew 70ml out of a 100ml jug with an 18g until I decided it was time to transfer. Wasn't even that bad....was getting a drop or two leaking out at the time.no debris either
i agree anything over 1cc needs to be deeperOriginally Posted by kelkel
This had me rolling because if you knew me in get frustrated with stupid things like that. Probably my worst quality lolOriginally Posted by Bertuzzi
Sure appreciate all the replies guys. My goods came today. Very excited.
I must be lucky cause I get it to push through a 28 gauge insulin pin no problem but that's pinning quads were I can hold the pin with both hands and put a lot of force into pushing on the plungerOriginally Posted by lovbyts
Ha, yeah that could be. I dont like to push that hard, I'm afraid I might break of the needle being so small.
Breaking the needle always reminds me of the 1st time I used a vanishpoint syringe. Scared the Sh*t out of me. I though the pin had broke and was trying to figure out how I was going to get it out when finally I figured out what happened. Ive read a couple other post from people doing the same thing. lol
Haha it would take a lot to break that off and even if it did it would work its way out on its ownOriginally Posted by lovbyts
