    Pittsburgh TRT doctor?

    Hi Everyone,

Is there anyone that can lead me in the right direction for a TRT doctor in Pittsburgh that actually has a progressive approach to TRT that includes Testosterone and HCG?

I am currently working with an endocrinologist that will subscribe one or the other but not both. I'm a 33 year old and would prefer Testosterone for the therapeutic benefits and HCG in hopes of preserving my fertility. By not being offered both concurrently, I feel like I am being given only bad choices. I'm supposed to start testosterone injections on Wednesday but the initial dose seems high (200mg per week). He has already provided me with follow up blood work order to use which measures Total T, Complete Blood Count w Differential, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel and Free Test. I don't see estradiol anywhere on the order, which I believe that should be monitored. Is it just me or am I on the receiving end of poor medical advice / care?

If anyone knows a good doctor (accepting anthem insurance preferably), I would greatly appreciate the name. Thanks!

    J2048b,

Thanks... when you say Dr Egron does hcg, do you mean hcg alone?

Check out the Finding a Physician sticky for a list of tests you'll want to get. E2 should definitely be checked.

It might be good to print out the hCG and Pregnenolone sticky to give to your doctor.

200mg Testosterone per week is indeed a high starting dose. Although a lot of us started around 100mg weekly, last year Dr. Crisler and Dr. Gordon lowered their starting doses to 70mg and 60mg respectively.

I go to Dr. David Goldstein in Wexford, you can find him if you Google North Hills Natural Medicine

He's not your typical "man doc" like Crisler, but he is very open minded. He has let me do any protocol I bring to him (that is with in reason). He's a great guy and is very much willing to work with you.
