Use less. There's a reason tabs generally come in 0.3 mg and 3 mg. I have 5mg tabs and just bite off a little piece.
I get crazy wicked dreams on melatonin.
^^^ this... It affects your natural melatonin levels in your brain... And w/the lowest dose possible is the best way(I've been doing the exact same thing as Bona stated) I have 5mg tabs and break em In hlf then again and I've been sleeping better than when I was prescribed Trazadone(which is also used as a food enhancement as well) in people w/eating disorders or just have trouble eating...

I rarely use it anymore following all my sleep hacking, but for awhile I was taking some every night since it's such a good brain antioxidant. But I had 500 MICROgram tabs, and I was taking an 1/4 to an 1/8, which worked wonderfully. So that's approximately 125-62.5 mcg!
This is prob one of the most over dosed supplements out there. As has been said numerous times in the thread, lower your dose significantly.

Yeah, will try taking less. Since melatonin is a prescription drug in Norway, i dont have anything else avalible at the moment.
