I have had low testosterone for many years now. I have tried several ways to increase my testosterone and nothing other than clomiphene seems to work.
My most recent testosterone results came back as:
Testosterone Total
June 18 2015: Testosterone Total: 232 ng/dL(Low) with a range of 348 ng/dL - 1197 ng/dL
August 24 2014: Testosterone Total: 398 ng/dL
June 13 2014: Testosterone Total: 157 ng/d
Testosterone Free:
June 2015, 6.31 ng/dL; Range: 5.00 ng/dL - 21.00 ng/dL
Clomiphene: 50 mg, 1/2 pill every other day.
The Low T goes back years and years before this, but I wanted to give you my last 3 scores.
I have been to men's clinics, my GP doctor and an endocrinologist.
I have used creams, patches, under arm, injections and under the skin pellets.
Nothing seems to really increase my testosterone to an acceptable level.
I heard a doctor on the radio talk about clomiphene and using some information I downloaded about it, I went to the endocrinologist who I talked into letting me try the clomiphene. It worked, but only temporarily.
This website is a complete over load with a great deal of information. I have read quite a bit here, but am not sure what all applies to me.
My situation:
46 year old male, 200 pounds, 10 pounds overweight
Low energy, little exercise, trouble sleeping, irritable
I tried going back to the gym, but I am exhausted all the time, so between my work and energy level, I struggle to find the time.
My goal is just to feel normal again or at least have some energy.
To get my testosterone up, should I stick with the clomiphene, ask the doctor for something additional, find a different men’s clinic, go back to injections for testosterone, etc?
I guess I am just at a loss and not sure what to even ask my doctor for to help.
I have heard that if you take testosterone, then your body stops producing it (or produces less) so the clomiphene seems the way to go, but I am not sure if the clomiphene is enough. I stopped the clomiphene some time back, but think I shoul dhave done more cycles.
I would be grateful if someone would make a recommendation or point me in the right direction.
Thank you very much.
