So I'm 43 but I've had Type 1 Diabetes since the age of 5. So I've been taking insulin for 38 years.
As well I've been lifting weights since I was 12 or 13. I've always had difficulty with recovery but I finally got quite strong into my early 30's. Bench 1 rep max in gym was 340 lbs (275 lb. in competition) Squat 360 lbs in gym (330 lb competition) Squat 440 lb gym (425 lb competition).
Anyway my strength and energy started dropping off about the age of 35.
I'm in great health and my Hemoglobin A1C has been 6.9 for years now and only a couple of times was it maybe 7.2 over the last 38 yrs.
So hitting my 40's my energy is really dropping off. Dragging my ass everywhere but I keep moving and exercising. Benching with 20 kg plates on each side is possible but finding energy is the issueI still have a bit of muscle but the muscle is pretty flat (been a while since the veins have really been seen in my biceps).
So I've had 1 child with my wife but unsuccessful trying for a second. Sperm count is high 29,000 but morphology (good shapes) was near zero percent. Can't get into see fertility Doc for years where we live.
So I go to the Middle East (I rotate 28/28 days and work there) and talk to pharmacist about the baby making issue and he gives my Bayer Proviron made by Schering and says "try this".
Well I've been on it for a month 50 - 75 mg/day 2 or 3 pills per day. After a 2 days I felt a slight boost in energy. But after 22 days I'm really starting to feel 10 years younger. Especially after boosting to 3 pills per day. I will say with 3 pills per day (75 mg) I feel very assertive personality wise and get renovations done around the house that I've been dragging my butt on for months.
My blood sugars have been great actually. I do feel stronger, my left trapezius muscle with tendonitis feels like it might be loosening up and healing.
Being a diabetic I am naturally cautious about simple sugars and bad fats in my diet.
So I hope other Type 1 Diabetics can benefit from this information. Your going to have to fly to Europe or ME to get this stuff if you live in North America. Read up on this stuff if your a long term diabetic and need a boost. Its very safe but monitoring Cholesterol is one item to watch and keep the diet inline for good cholesterol as well as good cardio work.
I'll try and update this as time goes on. Hopefully a second child will be on the way but since this stuff is cheap I may take it forever.
