Carbohydrates are the preferred energy source for the nervous system. Even in ketosis, the body utilizes fats by converting them into glucose for the nervous system. For cutting fat, I prefer carbohydrates because of the scientific proof that consistently moderate blood sugar levels provided by carbohydrate consumption and moderate activity produce a rather consistent fat burning effect even when daily caloric consumption is at or slightly above the basal metabolic need. Emotionally as well, athletes can appreciate the benefits of the pro/carb diet rather than the, many times, negative mood occurring alongside a keto diet. I believe many suffer due to calorie restriction in ketosis; kind of sounds like many of the entries in your log. It doesn't need to be that way, join us on the carb side! It isn't that a keto diet doesn't work, it is that many can easily benefit from other dietary practices with great success, as well.
