I ride a KTM 250 SX every chance I get. Mostly single track trails and a few Hare Scrambles.
Builds strength and endurance for me atleast.
What do you ride?

kx 250 2stroke built to the teeth I race D class at local tracks and do quite a bit of woods riding
haven't rode but a couple times this year though because my kick start shaft broke and had to tear into the motor to fix it and I took my time on it I also put in a new clutch while I was in there it blew my mind how well the performance increase was with new clutch plates and springs

Everything was impossible until somebody did it!
I've got 99 problems......but my squat/dead ain't one !!
It doesnt matter how good looking she is, some where, some one is tired of her shit.
Light travels faster then sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Great place to start researching ! http://forums.steroid.com/anabolic-s...-database.html
i ride and they are like dirt to me but they are not bikes![]()
I have raced for years... Made it up to the B class and did pretty well. I still ride from time to time. At one point I had a 4 stroke but went back to riding 2 strokes. I love blowing by 450's on my 06 RM250 lol. The new fuel injected bikes are insane though... Rode a friend's brand new KX450F and it just seemed like way too much motor.
Yup. been riding my 1984 XR500 for years. Bought that thing for $450 when I was 14 years old.
Recently got my license revoked for stunting an R6 and the XR500 (just wheelies) on public highways, so i'm kinda out for two more years.
I'm mostly a trail rider. log hopping. climbing rocks.... love it.
I just turned 45. I really enjoy riding as often as I can. Just did my first Hare Scramble. Start off like motocross, turn into a tight hairpin and then cross 8 railroad ties spaced about 8 feet apart! There were guys from 18 to late 60's.
I'm far from the best rider but I'm okay. C class.
I was shocked at the 60 yr old guys and their endurance.
Found out you don't have to ride fast, actually practice riding slow over technical stuff makes you faster and less likely to get injured.
My theory is it makes you stronger. Stronger you are, the more you lift. Oh yea, and endurance riding everything else. Lol
Kelkel,
My bike is a 2005 so far from the latest and greatest but still very smooth compared to what I rode as a kid.
The new bikes are fuel injected and some have electric start. It takes alot of the work outta riding.
KTM has demo days time to time. Go take one for a test ride. You'll probably be hooked.
My "old fat uncle" (that's how he refers to himself) can kick my ass at riding. He used to be a semi-pro cross country racer and can just basically glide over any obstacle.
I asked him to take me on an easy trail and it included crossing a rockslide and boulder hopping on the edge of a 200 foot cliff. Hairpin turns with wet logs. Hopping logs so big that i was beyond high-centered on my 500. Needless to say, i'm terrified of asking him to take me on a "medium" or "hard" trail. Don't underestimate old guys.
I really hope I have a son who wants to ride dirt bikes... I think that would be the greatest thing ever... Teaching him and spending time riding together. I think that would make my life complete.
2 strokes bdddddabdddddaaa
per my avatar, i race on a track - going tomorrow in fact. never did dirt, hard to do in the boston area. would love to try though.
