So I need a break from the day to day. I'm single but not interested in going somewhere to hookup. I'm just looking for some alone time. Somewhere remote and away from the city, preferably where cell phones don't work!
Not interested in fishing (yes, I know I'm the only Texan...)
I can only leave for a few days so it would need to be somewhat of a short flight or drive from central texas. Give me suggestions!

Not an option this time as there is limited time but the two best vacations I have ever had is Northern Sweden where they brag about ZERO CONNECTIVITY and it is dead silent and peaceful. Same thing here in India, out in the rainforest there are a few dead spots and we had the opportunity to spend a few days there. Was amazing. Nothing like dead spots for vacation, it makes (for me) a huge difference.

I would say door county Wisconsin but I'm pretty sure most the areas(camp geounds, hotels, and weekend apartments) u can stay at close down at the end of october.

Actually going to be pretty close sometime soon! Planning a trip to Trenton sometime before end of year.
As for the quick weekend off. I think I'm going to drive to Port Aransas. Just going to get a decent hotel by the beach, eat good, get a couple massages and lounge around the beach. Just some decompression time.

I don't know what you consider a "short flight," but Juneau, Alaska is my automatic getaway. I love everything about that city. Can't get enough of it. Just go up there and rent some snow machines for a few days. It's a blast!
(I am also a fisher, so that is a factor in my Juneau choice) And don't try to tell me Juneau doesn't have beaches!
