She's a big CM fan, for years. I'm a very musically diverse person, so I like a lot of good music, but lean heavily toward many genres of rock/metal, but we go to CM concerts from time to time when artists she likes comes through and we have a great time.

Same here. U have to like everything man. Not all but a good mix.

People would make fun of me for the mix I have on my phone.

Go from garth brooks to 2pac to rage against the machine to elvis and other 60s music.

I do draw the line with electronic and most punk lol

Agreed. For those who are like me, and hate the way country music has gone in the past couple of decades, here's a few guys/bands to check out who are not mainstream ("bro-country"):

    Randy Rogers Band
Cross Canadian Ragweed (broken up, but my all time favorite Red Dirt Country band)
    Wade Bowen
    Jason Boland and the Stragglers
    Turnpike Troubadours
    Stoney Larue
    Casey Donahew
The Great Divide (also broken up)
    Micky and the Motocars
    Brandon Jenkins
    Reckless Kelly

Sooooo many more I could name, but for those of you looking for something other than the pop-country they play on the radio, check these out!

I'll check some of them out. I'm more of a hardcore 80-90's country fan. Even early 2k's.
Always gonna like garth, george, charlie daniels, hank jr., alan jackson

I gotta say, i'm a Brantley Gilbert addict as of late. I like his southern rock style.

Amazing artist. Just wish he wouldn't have gone mainstream. Give it some time, and he will turn more and more pop just like all the others. Just the way it goes. Country radio wants to expand the market to people who aren't really into traditional country/southern rock. All about money.

It's money man. Country artist back when garth was big or even before weren't making the money they r now.

I wouldn't say ALL country has turned pop...but it is more main stream now. It's not all twangy like it used to be.

Southern rock is good....kid rock newer stuff like that

Blackjack Billy is pretty new....suprised bio you knew them....unless I am mistaken the name. .

Nach the guys one song I'll post soon tonight. If I can find a video of the cma performance of it with Timberlake I'll add that too. It's good. Might be just me but definitely reminds me of old school blues.
