    Anti-aging - Metformin

    Hi,

Did not know really where to ask this so figured I'll post it here, tends to be more entertaining anyways. Is anyone taking this Metformin for the purpose of anti-aging? If you are, what information can you share?

    Thanks

Not much to go on as far as humans are concerned but that'll change soon. Google scholar it and you'll find plenty of studies showing its effects on other animals.

Thanks Ranger, seems like 500mg - 800mg ed is some sort of standard protocol. Guess if I start this I'll report back on this board in 60 years :-)

I'm on it. Requested it actually. I'm not diabetic or even pre, but have read a lot of very positive things regarding it so ran the idea past my primary and she was gtg. 500mg/ed, extended release. I'll report back in 20 yrs, lol. It has helped trim my waist size down considerably.

    I take 500mg hcl 3 times weekly.

I was telling kelkel the other day, Metformin is super interesting and has plenty of benefits beyond high blood sugar issues, reminds me of crestor and all it's benefits that I found other than cholesterol.

Asked the wife on this since she's better than me in 90% of medical crap.

She said it might have a possibility of dropping blood sugar too low. Any truth to this in a person without high blood sugar?

Any blood sugar med can do that if it's not dosed properly.
