Since I've started drinking coffee, I've only really liked it black. I've tried it with cream and/or sugar and have never liked it. I do enjoy an occasional latte or cafe au lait but I typically drink black drip coffee, an americano, or a quad espresso over ice; black. Last week, out of the blue, I wanted creamer in my coffee. I keep several creamers on-hand for guests. Anyway, I added some to my coffee and then decided that it needed to be just a little sweeter, so i added some Splenda. I'm hooked. I've tried drinking a couple of cups of black coffee since (one of decent quality and one high quality) and yuck; it's as if I've never enjoyed black coffee in my life.
I know that tastebuds change (actually, those cells simply aren't replaced, and we lose tastebuds) as we age, but so abruptly?
Has anyone else experienced a sudden change like this?
(I'm not worried or anything; I just think it's weird.)
