I've been on carvedilol/Coreg for years, Beethoven. I'm heading into work but will post more in a bit.
Ok, settled in at work. There are several members here on a beta blocker that lift HIT. The main thing is to find the beta blocker that gives you the least side effects. I couldn't tolerate Lopressor/metoprolol, but I know of others that have no issues with it.
Just keep track of how.you feel. Lopressor absolutely drained me to the point I had no energy, but Coreg does me well. Also if you notice yourself developing an ongoing cough, I would bring it up to your Dr.
Don't let the arrhythmia thing freak you out. It is definitely something to be addressed and it is somewhat worrisome when you are first diagnosed, but the "shock factor" seemed to be the worst part of it for me, LOL.
I actually had a pacemaker for awhile and was also on digoxin/Lanoxin for my arrhythmia/heart issues. (Never could hit a therapeutic level with the digoxin even @ 200mcg, so I ditched it). My current cardiac/BP meds are carvedilol/Coreg, candesartan/Atacand, and Maxzide (triameterene/hctz).
As far as training, I still lift HIT, although I should do more cardio and I am glad to hear you are focusing on yours.
I hope that info helps you out.
PM me if you have a question you don't wish to post on the forum.

There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
