Question regarding steroids and genetic potential

I'm a 20 year old male looking to start a cycle for the first time. I have done extensive research, and plan on taking a moderate dosage of test, and of course plan on doing proper PCT. If I start a cycle before hitting my natural genetic potential, I know that once I come off, if I put on more muscle than my body genetically can hold that I will lose it. I'm wondering, will I keep just enough muscle that I can genetically hold? Why do some people say it's best to start taking steroids when you hit your genetic limit? If I go over that limit on only one cycle, obviously on future cycles I have the potential to put on even more size, so does it even matter when you start taking it? Now I know it isn't for gym newbies, I would classify my current strength levels at intermediate Olympic standards.

    first things first ,
any gains are all down to diet weather you keep them or not .

to keep gains above your genetic potential takes AAS the minute you come off you go back to your genetic potential if you are that far advance

before you consider taking any AAS think long term about the negatives . make sure you have diet down than training other wise it will be a waste

you are young some people will be against this but this is your body and choice

If anything my diet is better than my training, I weigh everything I eat and eat exceptionally clean. I don't see any long-term negatives that would be considered extremely detrimental, to me the potential positives outweigh the negatives. Would like to hear some more opinions though.

    6'2 205 like 15% bf

bench 210 squat 275 deadlift 405 all for reps, so I'd say actually a bit below intermediate Olympic level.

Planning on finishing this bulk, then going on a cut for summer, than starting the cycle when I'm really lean.

No one can really tell what your genetic potential is but most people do not train hard enough, rest correctly and eat correctly to really hit there genetic potential

I understand, but what I'd like to know is that is it worth it to wait until you are gaining muscle at a very slow rate (being close to your genetic potential) to consider steroid usage, or just starting now when you know you have some more natty gains left?

Been lifting seriously tracking everything I eat for a year now. Before that took a year off lifting and before that I was lifting for a couple years but not taking the lifts or diet seriously.

I think you should wait another year but that is just my opinion. You can still make great gains natty

Thanks for the help, I will probably give it some more time before I start. Doing all my research now though so I am prepared.

I trained for years before doing my first cycle and was accused often of using steroids before starting. When i did my first cycle already in a very lean state i just blew up. I was a bout 9 % bf when i did my first cycle and 36 years old

So you don't think the sides are a problem at all ?

TRT for life is always a negative... what happens if you get gyno ? hair lost dick problems... you really need to look at the risks and accept that any of them can happen no mater how safe you are , if your ok with all the negatives for life than go for it , only you will know when your ready

Never said that they aren't a problem at all, I just said that the positives to me outweigh the possible negatives.
I won't be on TRT for life since I won't be cycling for years upon years of insanely high doses, I know that it is possible even using the smallest AAS but it probably won't happen. If I get gyno I'll use Raloxifene to hopefully get rid of it. MPB doesn't run in my family so I'm not too concerned with hair loss. I'll accept a slight shrinkage of the balls for an insane amount of strength.

Genetic potential is the maximum level of performance achieved without the use of steroids. You should really peak out your genetic potential before you start on AAS. At 25 years old, without any AAS, I weighed 145lbs and was able to bench press 275lbs. You can do the same, if you really want to maximize your genetic potential. Some of the side benefits of maximizing your potential is that your tendon strength and muscle strength will balance out. It take years for your tendons and connecting tissues to get strong. Your muscles can get stupid strong in 3 to 4 months. Strong muscles with weak tendons is a disaster waiting to happen. If you are serious about maximizing your genetic potential you'd train naturally until you're close to 30 before you start cycling AAS. My .02

Thank you, I wasn't really aware of the major benefits of waiting before starting.
