In my blast log you can read about when I did my last blood glucose measurement yesterday, it squirted out blood, like it actually sprayed out all over my chest.
With repeated squeezing this happened several times,
like pushing water through a syringe with a 29G needle.

That in itself was probably just cause I hit a blood vessel. No biggie.

But today i measure BG again, and while this time it was the normal drip drip of blood, I noticed I started to blees from two places in the finger. (It was the same finger as yesterday)
WTF?
How can a tiny prick in the finger not have healed in >12h?!

My blood doesn't seem to coagulate very fast right now,
so I posted this here in the steroid Q&A instead of the lounge or peptide sub forums,
as it's AAS that affect coagulation mostly.

I do also use ASA.

When I squeeze my finger right now I still bleed from the whole made yesterday.
But not so much from the one just 5min ago, which calms me down a little.
No scratch that, both holes still bleed I see.
But not that much now.

Anyone noticed this?

Time to get some bloodwork soon and check INR.

Dang Doc. If anything my blood thickens while on AAS and I will take an aspirin an hour or so before I do a self bleed or it'll clot up and I won't get but a few ounces.

Are you on an aspirin regimen by doctor's advice or self-medication? You may want to back off the asa and get some bw to see where you are at with levels. It may just be where you pricked your finger. Try another place next time and hopefully it'll be normal.

It's self prescribed ASA. Use about 100mg ED,
and I'll use 250-500mg for pain now and then.

It's because like you, my blood usually clots to fast,
which I notice when I self bleed. Just half a glass and it's more like those gelatin desserts than blood.

So this is new.
But yeah, I probably just nicked a larger vessel.
I'll see if it happens more.

I use one of those pens that release a very small needle, it barely touchs the skin but still enough for a drop of blood. You have to have hitted a vessel, probably artery. Hows your BP?

I also use a pen.
I have a slin kit you know, my beautiful slin kit.
One zipper bag that contains a steel reusable flexi pin where you put in slin cartridges, and also some disposable plastic slin flexipens that have 300u.

The other zipper bag is my BG measuring kit,
Harpoon pen with 6 rounds of ammunition,
(U use 1 round several times)
Plastic box with strips,
And the monitor.

Problem is BP.
My monitor has crashed.
So I don't know what it is.
Which worries me a great deal, so I'll get a replacement ASAP.

Those homekit BP units i dont trust. But better than nothing and it will give u a hint.

For years even my docs equiment gave wrong results because of my armsize.

Most home BP testers are not that accurate but they are consistent with readings. Even the fancy ones at the doctor's office reads different than when taken by a real person. To give you something to go by take your home BP unit with you the next time you go to the doctor. Have the nurse check your BP with a BP cuff not the electronic version. Then check your BP with your home unit. This will let you know how your home unit reads compared to an actual person checking your BP. It will let you know if your home unit reads high or low.

And you are really supposed to be sitting for about 5 minutes before checking your BP to allow it to stabilize. There in lies a lot of the variations in readings when it's checked at most doctor's offices.

Allow me to disagree. Of course theres always some degree of margin of error, but with stethoscope the margin of error now lies in the human ear which is not as consistent as a machine.

I read BP with stethoscope for years before there was machines and sometimes its not so easy to accurately determine the diastolic value as the heart beats fade over a range of pressure. Even systolic, if the heart beat is slow, can have margin of error due to the time between heartbeats.

A small error is not really that important. Im sure there are bigger errors for misplacing the stethoscope than for arm cuff machine readings.

Now, wrist machines, yes, those really suck.
