What labs before starting for 64yr old

I need to find and pay for my own lab work before I start my own private gear HRT.
What is the minimum amount of lab work I should have done before I get started? At 64yrs I know my body and know my T-levels are low and I have already ordered gear on my own for time being.
I don't want to have to pay for a bunch of unnecessary lab work....

The first round of blood work is the largest - need a baseline for if symptoms arise later down the road you have a comparable lab to backtrack on. After HRT is dialed in you don't need everything from A-Z

To start you will want your blood panel, lipid panel, hormone panel (except FSH and LH), and I think the most important minerals would be Ca + Mg + D3

Agree with this advice. Suggest the OP read the sticky on "best Practices in TRT", I discuss labs toward the end of the post.

I get regular labs done every six months at the VA for free but they don't do my t-levels yet,
Let me get my hands on my last workup from the VA and then maybe somebody can help me with what other labs I should have done on my own out of my pocket until I can get the VA to do all the labs I need.

Great reads and I'm in the process of trying to get my VA dr. To order me a workup of new labs to include all the mentioned relevant testosterone and associated levels. Once I get the results I will post them here in the forum and go from there
