    Training split

    Age=59
    Height=5-9
    Weight=160 Lb
    BF=15%
    Years training= life long

    Recently with my previous training split I developed a bicep tendon rupture (bottom tendon) from deadlifts,

    I’m just wondering if I’m not getting enough recovery with my split and that might have caused the rupture.

    Sun=back
    Monday=chest
    Tuesday=off
    Wend=legs
    Thru=shoulders
    Fri= arms
    Sat=off

    I do 18 sets of 10 reps on each body part

    What kind of split would you guys recommend

    I don't see anything "wrong" with the routine if it works for you outside the injury.

    At 59 are you on any type of HRT (Test, HGh, Deca, etc)?

    If you deadlift using switch grip (one hand up one hand down) you have to alternate the switch. I injured my bicep from deadlift when I was young and stubborn because I could lift 100lbs more with my right palm up.

    If you aren't doing switch grip you could look into changing your grip, stance, or both.

    I no longer use a underhand grip when I deadlift “ just overhand

    I’m not taking any hrt but thinking about starting ( mabie a lack of test is why I had the tendon rupture
