Just a heads up: For anyone living in Italy, from today Nebido is no longer available, on all national territory. I just found out (I'll stay in Italy for one year) I'm at the end of my interval (10 weeks) and I'm not sure what my next steps should be.

I'll see an endo first thing next week, but they all push for gels and creams.
Do you know what's available in Italy except gels and creams?

It would be frequent pinning and take time to get regulated, but there is always Testovis. It's propionate ester and only 50mg//ml and comes in 2ml amps, 2 amps per box.

A longer ester like cyp or enanthate would be better, though.

Could try to source Aveed, or UGL test decanoate. Could also see if Pfizer Tesr C/E is available to you (called Depot Testosterone)

What's the deal with gels?

I've talked to three italian endos so far and they push gels like it's their job. I have no clue why. They make it seem like it's the only option, while I'm sure it is not. That's why I was asking if there were any italians here on the forum that could give me some knowledge on what's available.

Regarding Testovis, I've read a few articles that it runs out pretty often, and pharmacies can't/don't restock. Again, I don't know if this holds true now.

My pharmacy only told me about a lockdown from the manufacturer. There's also the article above saying that it's almost impossible now to find Sustanon, Testin, Testogel, Nebido, Testoviron in Italy.

Well, some guys have good results with gels, so don't completely write it off as an option. However, some do report high DHT conversion and eventual transdermal fatigue.

I hope the situation improves for you, and you can source the type of TRT you prefer.

They push gels for the same reason they push Nebido over shorter acting (and MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE) esters like T-eth and T-cyp because of $$$$$$. The manufacturers of gels and Nebido pay big money to push their patent-protected products to doctors. So the only education they get is paid for by the same sources that manufacture the drugs. They have a vested interest in pushing their product and their protocols over time-tested and much less expensive generic drugs like T-eth and T-cyp. Doctors won't prescribe the shorter acing less expensive esters because they don't know how to prescribe them. They never learned the new protocols (e.g., E3D dosing of 40mg) because the manufacturers of the generic drug do not have the resources to push their products on the docs. Why should Watson (one of the major generic manufacturers) spend millions of dollars to promote T-cyp when the patient could switch to another generic manufacturer that charges a few pennies less?

Bottom line for you in Italy, it looks like you are being held ransom to drug manufacturers and medical profession that pushes the gels. Not my personal choice, but if they are covered under your insurance system i'd go with that option, given you limited choices. Alternatively, you can accept the gels and purchase the shorter acting T esters from underground labs and treat yourself with a combination of the two.

The situation is very confusing, to say the least.

1) Doc gives me a diagnosis of secondary hypogonadism / hypopituitarism and puts me on Nebido
2) I take Nebido for one year every 12/10 weeks, feeling trash with anxiety with no libido
3) I find out on my own that there's a test crisis in Italy

Not my personal choice, but if they are covered under your insurance system i'd go with that option, given you limited choices.

They are. Provided I can actually find some, I'll give them a try just to say that I did them.

I've heard of a few trans people here that are without test since last February.

Anyway. I'll book an appointment with an endo first thing tomorrow (I'm on week ten of Nebido, time is running out!) and ask for: a prescription for gels; types of injections available; a clarification regarding the situation in Italy and where I can find testosterone at the moment and in which form.

Today was my first day: no positive symptoms so far except a massive headache and some itching when I put the gel on my shoulders.

I still have some remains from my last injection of Nebido so I'm very curious on how the gel will behave after there's no more Nebido in me.

What are the differences in estradiol levels in gels compared to test undecanoate?

Have you considered obtaining black market T-cyp or T-eth? I don't know the drug enforcement situation in Italy, but it's fairly easy to get it in the US. Most of it comes from suppliers in Turkey.
