what were your thoughts on the results and the show overall
couple of my main thoughts about the results
- was very disappointed with William Bonac placing 2nd over Hadi Choopan 3rd.. Williams legs/quads were clearly downsized from is last few showings and lacked fullness (I'm guessing he had an undisclosed knee injury during prep), plus his abs were not that sharp and are losing detail (his 6 pack has gone to crap) . where as Hadi's quads are ridiculously full and super defined and separated and Hadi's abs are shredded, defined, and perfectly semetrical. . also , knowing how much muscle William carries on his short frame I thought Hadi would be a bit undersized when they stood together,, but shit Hadi was bigger and wider then William especially from the back .
Hadi should of got 2nd, not William.
- Brandon Curry .. figured he would win. he came in fuller then he needed to be and so thus didn't dry out like he could have to have all the sharp details . but he has the best overall structure with quality muscle (on stage that day). he had the aesthetics and the size (just not as sharp as he could have been) .. totally enough to win in that line up.
- Cedric Mcmilans physique is frickin awesome if he can ever get really ripped and dry he would dominate
classic physique
- big fan of Chris Bumstead. I was rooting for him to win !! but watching the show I didn't think he should have won. when he cuts down to make that weight, he starts to become stringy and to 'skinny' looking because of his height (they need to increase the weight limits for the taller guys in classic) , AND his back especially loses a ton of details and fulllness .
if he could come in with 15 pounds of more stage weight though , his physique would be stellar .
I think Breon was more complete all around and just as conditioned as Chris .
- George Peterson.. have no clue how this dude can ever make the 192 weight class. he is massive and packs on a ton of muscle ,, just the oppose of Chris Bumstead that that can look skinny on stage. he is the most bodybuilding looking guy on stage . he was the most conditioned as well . so him getting 3rd just goes to show that "classic physique" is NOT just a muscle contest , or George would have won.
- classic physique class posing routines are frickin stellar and what all bodybuilding should be . the open class bodybuilding routines are a joke (just dudes hitting most musculars and walking around the stage with their extended guts trying to fist pump and urge the crowd to make noise)
- mens physique -- they all look the same. its just a gimmick to have this class at such a high level (even though they all work hard).. the judges just seem to randomly pick whoever they feel like year after year . no real bodybuilding type criteria for this class at all . at least have them do real comparison rounds and actual posing and make it a real competition.
- womens bikini - I'm moving to Brazil one day .. thats all I can say about that
