The dude that corrects your form

Sometimes rightly so, sometimes not. Is this in your opinion socially acceptable? Because in mine, it is annoying. I have a mirror there to see everything myself.

This sounds like a hear-me-rant thread

I see this mostly happen to women as an excuse for guys to come talk to them.

If you haven’t spent 6 months nodding at the person then 6 months of a nod and hello followed by another few months oa a nod a hello and a little small talk keep your mouth shut. I’ll ask you if I think you can help me with my form.

    heres another perspective

being I own the F'ing gym and the piece of equipment and weights your using are mine, and the air conditioned air you breath is being paid for by me , then I'll come correct your damn form anytime I want before you hurt yourself and try to sue me.

    Small gym? ^

    Anyway

Totally, an excuse to talk - and not a good one. I won’t do it - it just makes you look like a gym trolling douche bag

about 6000 sq ft .. 800 or so members. pretty much the only 'real' gym in this area. everything else is just country clubs and community center type gyms.. by "real gym" I mean yeah we have a chalk bowl, we have multiple power racks, 5 deadlifting platforms, belted squat machine, bumper plates, specialty bars, chains and bands, etc.. in the power lifting room

I take pride in my equipment .. I got things like this beauty in there.

Man I'd love to have a belt squat machine. Seems to take all the pain out of knees. I have to old school it using the end of a T-bar row. Well, it's not even that it's an olympic bar stuck in the corner. You do what you have to do.

yes they are awesome . with my bad back its the only way I can squat really.. I have clients with knee problems as well and we can position them on this so they get no knee shearing or knee pain. not only do I have powerlifter and athletes using this to build their lower body strength (you can go super heavy without worrying about perfect form needed like with a traditional squat) , BUT I've also put 60 year old female clients on it as well . its super easy to use.

mine is the full version pit shark . so you can do weighted dips and weighted pull ups as well. and you can improvise and do things like calves and Romanian deadlifts

I have never been corrected but only started attending the gym when I had more lbm than anyone there.

The only ones that spoke to me asked for advice or complimented other than one guy that was 30% bf and thought he was big.

He said he thought I was overtraing my biceps which were twice as big as his. But it was followed with "your bis look great though".

I use anger in the gym and it keeps nearly all away.
    Focus is obvious.

You should be in a public gym kel.
I know you know what you are doing obviously but it helps you mentally in other situations. I have been driving by my gym hauling ass to work and I want to jerk the wheel into the parking lot and do what I was born to. I miss it bad.

I normally mind my own business unless asked, but I've mentioned it politely to a couple of people that were going to hurt themselves.
17 year old kid on the leg press that was doing 1/2 reps and locking his knees each time to rest.

I always keep to myself, it annoys me when I see other members do it to other members of the gym. I can't imagine how annoyed I'd be if someone did it to me.

I might make eye contact with someone after several months and a polite nod, but that’s a one & done.

Ear buds are in, no talking rule is in effect (students and ex-students are an exception).

A trainer once asked me if I understood the anatomy of a movement that I was doing; I essentially ate his liver with a nice Chianti.

Random thing from this morning that kinda belongs here.

I feel like the “don’t round your back when lifting” shit has gone way too far.

Don’t “pooping dog” is one thing, but I just witnessed someone deadlifting with what I can only describe as “peacock assing”.

Still didn’t correct him. Not my place, and he clearly has been training for a while, so I didn’t want to hear some nonsense about abdominal tension in relation to lumbar abloobloo.
