3cc 25 ga x 1" is a good all around size pin. Then buy a box of 18 ga tips only for loading and you're good to go.

Gpz used to be great when they carried terumo needles. Terumo is the sharpest needles available, and out perform every other brand. I use excel syringes, and terumo needles. Excel syringes have the little nipple on the plunger to push more of the oil out of the hub.

There was a a paper out there that showed terumo to be the sharpest needles i will see if i can dig it up. Terumo are not as easy to find anymore, everyone used to carry them now only a few places.

I cant find the actual study, but this is the basic information from the study published by terumo.

Never had any issues.

- Stores well, glue from packaging of each needle doesn't fall apart over time (hopefully this description makes sense)

- Never had a needle break and seem to be the sharpest

- Longest expiration date (don't think this matters but hey the apocalypse might be near). Don't even know if needles can actually "expire".

- Competitive pricing

- Leur lock system never fails as well as needle guard never falls off

A happy customer satisfied with the product+quality.

I imagine there are other good options but almost 10 years later and I'm still pleased with the two companies.

I definitely don't like Covidien. Their needles are sharpened on a funky angle or something.

I just posted on another thread about this so I’ll just copy and paste. I use Excel syringes and BD PrecisionGlide needles. I get them at Medlabgear.com.

I use BD Precisionglide 23g needles. They are thin walled so the inner diameter of the needle is larger. This allows more fluid to flow through while still maintaining the 23g outer diameter. I takes about 10 seconds for my Rx Test to draw 1/2ml with a 1ml syringe and a lot less for other brands that use less viscous oils. I would imagine a larger syringe would take even less time because of more suction.

GPZ medlab… I buy a combo set there with 100 BD syriges with 23g pin and 100 25g for injection tips and a box of 200 alcohol wipes for like $33...ive tried all the other brands through out the years and these are my favorite...if you live in the US shipping takes like 2-3 days max...

I go to my local needle exchange and they give me needles for free.

When it comes to the sharpness of needles, I just let a tiny drop of oil come out the tip and let it run down all the sides of the needle so that it slides in cleanly.

I put a single drop of Test C from the tip of the needle on my skin, and that is my target. Then the pin breaks the skin with an oily lube, and slides in.

It sounds like some sex shit, but I’m serious.
