SNL is the tv show “Saturday Night Live”. It’s a comedy show that’s been on Saturday night since the 70’s. Lots of stars got there start there like John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray to name a few.

I currently am doing so much isolation, I’m afraid I’m losing it, lol.

Farley always looks like he’s about to have a heart attack when he’s acting. There’s no half way with him.

Well shit, tried to post a funny bro home workout link but the URL wants you to download an app.

Fuck all that, wasn’t THAT funny

    Stay safe, stay sane.

Managed 500 pushups today in roughly 30 minutes.
20 sets of 25. Mother fucker, forgot what a pump you can get with just push ups...

That video reminds me that when I was a kid my one-horse town had one extremely conspicuous body builder. He was a lifeguard at the only public pool in town so he could spend the summers working on his tan, and had lots of free time for dropping iron. One of those muscle supplements ads in a 1960s bodybuilding mag featured "before and after" photos of him showing how effective their product were. Except the photos were taken two minutes apart, one standing in the shade and relaxed (so he looked 'flat') and one standing in the sunlight and flexing so his definition stood out.

Anyway, the guy had a YUGE upper body but skinny legs. So everybody called him Tweety Bird, or Tweety for short, after the cartoon character with skinny legs:

Clarky, Saturday Night Live is an icon of American entertainment. In its early days it was some of the funniest shit that mankind has ever created but in time its humor became, first, too New York City-centric to be funny to anyone apart the hipsters, and later, too politicized to be funny to anyone not drinking the same flavor kool-aid as they.

From it's first season in 1975 through the Eddie Murphy era, it was staggeringly funny. After that it was hit or miss depending who was part of the ensemble cast, but it has been staggeringly depressing for at least the last decade.

    Do we start a push-up challenge/thread?

Or body weight workout challenges we could check off when completed? I could use the accountability...

How can you not know about SNL? I'll grant you Caledonia is a bit out of the way but I have it on good authority they've had electricity there for going on 50 years. Surely they must have the Internet there by now. At least dial-up.

I’m pretty sure Clarky was a small kid when that skit aired. Hell, they were talking about Richard Greiko, lol.

    Jane, you ignorant slut.

    It's a floorwax AND a dessert topping.

We are two wild and crazy guys.

The only SNL skits I remember.

Once I got a car in 1980, i certainly never spent another saturday night in the house in front of the TV. The NYC nightclub scene had too much ass out there that needed a good pounding.

Every try making your own? It's crazy how easy it is, and how much better it tastes than store-bought. Even markedly better than the "fresh" pasta in your grocer's refrigerator case.

When I retire, I likely will. Have been thinking of potential hobbies - cooking seems to pop up a lot. Right now, I’m too lazy, plus the missus has domain over the kitchen. I believe she has made her own pasta before. She’s creative and talented in the kitchen, I am a lucky man.

This video warms the cockles of every soldier's heart, officer and enlisted alike, who ever has suffered the rough edge of a sergeant major's tongue.

I just remembered, right after the ceremony when I was promoted to captain, my battalion sergeant major shook my hand and told me, "Captain, don't let it go to your head, it's really just First Lieutenant, Second Award."*

His way of reminding me that I might outrank him but that didn't mean I was in charge.

    * I'll explain for those of you who were never in the military. A first lieutenant's rank is one silver bar. A captain's is two silver bars. First lieutenant, second award.

    Yes.
Last night, I switched to SNL with about 10 minutes to go and Adam SAndler was singing a song as a tribute to Farley. The funny way that Adam makes his songs.
It was so weird because we were just talking about Farley, I haven’t watched SNL in a long ass time, and I turned right before it started.

That ain’t Coney Island. It ain’t even New York. Those accents are from Midwest or something.
