This one stings really bad. He was one of my guitar heroes growing up.

RIP. However, there is going to be a great jam session in heaven tonight.
I didn’t even know he had cancer. Smh. cancer sux ass!
Man, VHII is one of my favorite albums of all-time. I didn't even know his cancer came back.
I can't wait for 2021. This year has been a disaster.
There are some greats up there. But thank God we still have Malmsteen and Richie Blackmore.
Can we add Buckethead to that list?
I mean Vai, Haynes, KWS, Eric Johnson.
There’s so great ones left but EVH was just the coolest in my opinion
Yep. S&D just earned himself some pts with the Haynes comment. Few people play with his level emotion. IMO one of the best guitar solos ever from an emotional stylistic view was when warren haynes covered Neil Youngs Cortez the killer live in central park with Dave matthews. He has multiple solos in that song and each oozes raw emotion. It's incredible. Not technically difficult but it speaks to me.

ooh and i never did say rip to Eddie Van Halen... truly one of the greats and reasons why i took up guitar 35 yrs ago...love you Eddie, you will be missed by all...
Did you guys know that the guitar that was in the album inlay of VHII is with Dimebag Darrell? EVH gave it to him at his funeral.
I just found that out too
The master.....big part of my music life.....will never be another like him.
A Ft Hood soldier's tribute to EVH:
