Elimination half life and duration of action.......regarding NPP

Hi all,

Lady here. I'm planning for my next cycle in February and am planning on running NPP this time for a bulk. Kinda have a more pharmacological question more than anything.....the Elimination half life is 2.7 days but the duration of action is 5-7 days. Info I'm getting is to inject 5-8mg ED or 10-16mg E2D, ideally 4 injections per week if E2D.

I'm getting thrown off on the half life being 2.7 days and the duration of action being 5-7 days and wondering if someone can geek out and explain this to me. I don't mind injecting ED but thinking E2D would be more suitable considering the half life.....daily seems it would be overkill esp for a female.

Cylon hit the nail on the head.
Every 2.7 days the drug dosage reduces by half.
For example 10mg will become 5mg in 2.7days then in another 2.7 days it will be 2.5mg etc. So although the dosage has been reduced it would still be within clinically effective dosage range (it still works it's magic). This should help explain duration of action and the need to inject every TWO days to keep the dosage within cer.

Yes thats correct. Initially it will take time to build up peak serum levels. Stable levels are key to avoiding or minimising side effects. If you inject more frequently you will build up more scar tissue sooner and with npps half life, why bother?
Are you planning to run an oral at the front or finisher?

Hi, not planning on running anything extra this time. This would be my first time using NPP.
