Can you be allergic to an ester?

I've tried 3 different sources of Test Cyp in 3 different oils, and each time I use it (after 2 weeks), I break out into some bad itching all over my back and chest. It's random and usually comes on when I feel hot. I never had any issues like that with any testosterone in the past. I cycled in my 20s/30swith no issues and now I'm 44. It's only been the past couple of years with Test Cyp. I'm hoping that it's not a developed allergy to testosterone in general.

I've had that issue before when was running test and tren.
Being on TRT I am always on test so...
    Mine was caused by tren.

    I took benadryl.
I also run lower tren now.
I believe that was was I was running 500 tren E.
(May actually have been some tren A... I think I had some once...)

I've seen where many people have had similar issues, but no real resolve to it. I wish I could pin point exactly what the problem is. I have some Test E I'm sitting on. I may have to just switch.

Without boring you with a bunch of science mumbo jumbo, I highly doubt you’re reactions have to do with the ester that it’s attached to. Men are notorious for developing allergies after the age of 30 (even more so if you’re Caucasian) later in life allergic reactions are extremely common and I’m guessing this may be playing a role in why your experiences are so different now as opposed to being in your 20’s and 30’s. My guess is it has to do with the solvents or the carrier oils (I know you’ve tried 3 oils but I bet there is a common denominator)
DD hit the nail on the head when mentioning Benadryl, although there are better allergy medicines that are available OTC.

Your body is either sending histamines or mast cells to combat your newfound allergy. I would try an antihistamine to attack either H1 or H2 that is responsible for the itching, can also use a hydrocortisone cream on the surrounding skin to see if that helps as well. It’s way more common than you may think and is easily remedied. I’m no doctor and I could be way far off (I doubt it) but it’s worth 10$ to find out. I’d try fexofenadine (Allegra) or loratadine (Claritin). Hoping it works, good luck!

The heat and sweat will definitely exacerbate any underlying skin issues as well, super common.

Edit (just saw your in TX, heat and sweat is what ya’ll do. Any changes in soaps, laundry detergents or anything else recently?).

No changes in household products. After the past couple of years, I am 100% positive it's revolving around the TRT. If I discontinue use, I am all back to normal 2 weeks later on cue. Once I pick it back up again, right on cue after 2 weeks, the itching begins. I'm not having much luck with OTC stuff, and Benadryl makes me sleepy, which doesn't help me get motivated to hit the gym. I have some same symptoms in hot weather or cold.

I'm wondering if it may be an estrogen issue. I've read that estrogen affects your collagen and skin oils. I do get a dry skin feeling. I may have to go in for some blood work next week, and see if I can see anything there.

Benadryl makes us all sleepy...diphenhydramine the main ingredient is used in OTC sleeping pills. Pick up some Allegra, or Zyrtec and give it a try. If not, no harm and no foul. Interesting theory on the estrogen and frankly nothing surprises me anymore. Labs and a doc visit will no doubt help.

I missed the TRT part, I thought it was just the jabs around a cycle. Keep us posted, like you said if one guy is experiencing it changes are a few others are as well. This is a great place to collate information

I've combed the whole internet and there have been many people with the same situation, but no one with any solution. It's been like the only topic I haven't been able to figure out through my experience with gear, health, and fitness. Even my last TRT doctor didn't know what to suggest. That doesn't really say much, because I'm sure there are many flunkie docs out there. After 3 sources, and 3 oils, I can only think it's a hormonal problem. I don't want to think I'm allergic to test now.

I'll order some blood work and post back.

    As BDSM stated above...

You could simply have developed a new allergy.
Perhaps to BA or BB or who knows...

    Try taking Allegra or Zyrtec.

I highly doubt it is hormonal.
I could be wrong but I've never heard of a person allergic to testosterone.

(In walks KelKel to prove me wrong...)

I think I'm just going to get some blood work done while I'm on test and having the symptoms. I'm having people suggest everything from a thyroid issues to auto immune problems. I'll see what the blood work says and make a decision.

    I’m sure it’s just Covid...

    BDSM - that’s awesome

    Bloodwork it is, good luck
