No, because dietary fibers aren’t glucose sources. They are fermented in the gut, and the caloric byproducts are fatty acids of varying chain lengths.
As for how effective they are, the literature is all over the place and depends heavily upon which one we’re talking about.
The only “GDA” that has complete efficacy is insulin.
