So, we went up north for Christmas - I just had a feeling we’d get sick - came back, felt fine - went to the gym, felt fine - night time hits, I get the sweats & delirium sets in for about 3+ days - broke the fever after one night



We didn’t even officially know it as COVId since I’m not getting tested, neither is the wife - my son knew something was up since we looked hung over af, but we weren’t drinking - so he stayed the fuck away from us for a week now(he showed no symptoms, at all) - yesterday, I was smoking a cigarette & my neighbor is like “man, that thing fucking smells” - since he was down wind from me - I’m like wth, I can’t smell a thing - umm, you think my stupid self would of noticed when I was elbow deep in a fuel tank earlier & couldn’t smell the gas - luckily, the shit already dried off

The wife seems to b fine - but, I can’t smell or taste shit - how in the fuck does that even make sense? I had a sense of taste & smell the whole time we were sick

But, after doing some interweb reading - it seems to be neurological/CNS damage

And, I had to stop taking my blood pressure meds(since I still monitor my BP 3x daily) - my BP is as low as it was before I started roids - 120/70 < wtf is that shit?

First day I noticed it being low, I was still taking my Lisinopril & Amlodipine - the shit was straight in stroke territory(95/60) < what in the fuck

But, I’m at my optimal weight of 201 - since my appetite is out the window


I even went to the gym yesterday. In the morning my sense of taste was there since I remember I over sugared my coffee. In the afternoon - long gone

Thought I’d ad some pics for a great time line + the wife thinks I’m more insane than usual - since this lack of sense of taste/smell comes in when symptoms first onset - I seriously can’t smell fucking shit, I tried taking a whif of SuperGlue - nothing! That shit would knock me on my ass any other day

Covid finally got me the day after Christmas… it was really fun to have to tell my whole family and my wife’s family that I was positive. Had a fever for a day and a half, slight cold-like symptoms for a couple days and my stomach is a little off at times. My wife who is vaccinated also tested positive. Thankfully our 1 year old has yet to show symptoms… and had a negative test .

I tested positive on dec 2nd. Taste and smell were back by Christmas.
Overall it was basically like a bad cold. I never fevered. Sinus stuff, mild cough, couple days of a headache.

No rhyme or reason yet as to why the shit blasts some and others shrug it off. I suppose it'll be another 10 years before there is an answer for that.

Yup. I knew it hurt, but didn’t realize it till I had a large bruise over my rib cage. Cough from hell. Would rather have that than a loss of taste/smell.

Daughter got it for Christmas also. Still like the flu for the most part and she is one of thise who gets the flu around Christmas every few years

I was roughly one and a half weeks with no taste samson, still not 100% and i had it 1st Dec. Me and the mrs had the horrid cough, well i still have it and like her it was 24/7 fucking brutal.

i got tested positive day after christmas. wasnt bad, slight fever and aches for a day and headache. The wife got it worse, she lost all energy and still has none. She is fully vaccinated and I only got 1 shot and never second.

My 10 year old son comes home with a busted nose - talks it off like he fell or some 10 year old nonsense bull shit - riiiiight

I keep prying him, which ass hole did it - he finally says it, and of course I don’t believe em - it was a girl < I’m like, that’s no hit from a girl bro

Oh it was - he’s in 4th grade, pushed this girl for calling him names(the usual) this beast of a 4th grader straight cleans his clock < this girl is almost my wife’s size. Well, again - we’re off to a strong year. Look how much you have learned, girl or not - learn to pick your battles


Seriously this girl is a solid buck 35 yo < he’s 100

I’ve been feeling pretty good… definitely had “mild” symptoms. But man this fatigue is killing me… seems to be getting worse and not better! My stomach is still a little off too, which doesn’t help anything.

I just got done with a 12 hour sleep session, then I just lay back down

Yesterday I mustered through a fairly solid workout though

I just keep telling myself that I’m way better off than some I kno - ie my son’s friends dad, dude was in a hospital for over a month, to be released with a oxygen tank that he just stopped using - he’s your typical Joe Schmo, but still active & not overweight - he’d whoop my ass on a basketball court - now, it looks like he aged a decade within 6 months - he even stopped smoking

My neighbor’s brother(he’s 59) caught a shit ton of blood clots in his legs from not being able to walk for a few weeks - they treated him tho, now he can barely walk with a walker

Yeah I’d say we got pretty lucky, fatigue sucks but the last place I’d want to be is in a hospital. Good on you for hitting the gym… I have been off isolation since Thursday and I haven’t had the metal strength to force myself to go, it’s all I can do to make it through a day of work and help my wife with our son.

It could be a lot worse, and you’ve definitely been through worse, but hopefully our year gets better lol
